Harriton's Bright is cut from Army Bowl roster

By Jeff McLane
Inquirer Staff Writer

Callahan Bright, a Division I-A prospect from Harriton, has been dropped from the U.S. Army All-American Bowl roster, according to Dana Lehner, director of athletic media relations for the football all-star game.

Bright, a two-way tackle, was selected late last month to play in the fifth annual east-west matchup. The nationally televised game at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, is scheduled for Jan. 15.

The game will feature 77 of the best high school players in the country, including West Catholic lineman Marques Slocum.

Lehner did not comment as to why Bright was dropped from the East squad. A replacement hasn't been announced.

Harriton athletic director Tom Ferguson, when reached yesterday, said that he had not heard anything about the decision.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pound Bright was ranked as the fifth-best recruit in the nation as of Nov. 23 by the website, rivals100.com.

Colleges pursuing the senior are Miami, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Florida State, Texas A&M, Purdue and USC.

If Lemming had any balls he'd get Jamario in this game now.

Insiders message board I went over here looking for a post i made about a month ago and found this one which is pretty much the same thing. A couple of our fellow buckeye fans are trying to pull for Jamario to be at the game and OSYNC has even brought up Buckskins point about Harris. Last post by "insider" Bob Lichtenfels says the may have a say in the replacements. My one year subscription ran out a month ago(needless to say i didnt feel a need to renew it), but i was still able to post today so maybe it was a free weekend or something. Anyways I don't see how us bombarding this thread with support for Jamario could hurt anything. :oh: :io:
