its like everyday we hear about some freshman tearing it up in practice.

robiskie challenging for the 4th spot? thats unbelievable with the depth/talent that we have here. its also good to hear that downing has really improved.

Did anyone else notice the reference to Datish as the starting left tackle? What about Rehring?

Robiskie as 4th receiver? I'm having a hard time believing that. Does that mean he's passed Hall, Dukes, Lyons, and Jordan? If true, then I suppose it's a testament to Brian's supreme talent.

The article said, "... may end up being the fourth wide receiver."

Recheck that it. It says:

Downing is right guard alongside Kirk Barton who is starting at right tackle. Rehring is left tackle alongside left guard Simms.
I believe UnderTheRadar was referring to this comment from earlier in the article...

"Alex Boone should play along with starter Doug Datish at left tackle."

So, other than the fact than TBuck can't read, :) is Rehring hurt or does this reporter not know what is going on? If he doesn't know Rehring is starting at LT, I don't know how much stock I'd put in the rest of what he says - the part about Robiskie is really surprising (not in a bad way, mind you!)

Datish was practicing with the 2nd team at Center and Left guard during there practice on espn....no way datish is the starter over rehring or even Boone...also during that practice i saw tim shafer working with the defensive tackles and never with the o-line...the roster still has him as an offensive tackle? is he staying on D?

Ooops sorry, didn't see that line.

I had to revisit this thread when I looked at the official media release online today and saw Datish listed there. I am really surprised. I thought that Rehring was the man there.

Guess we shall see how it all shakes out.

Young Bucks contributing.

Freshmen stepping up in a big way today against Iowa. It was great to see Malcolm Jenkins in there competing. Other than the one play he had two penalties on he had a very good game from a coverage standpoint. I thing he will be good.

Lawrence Wilson looked good on the Dline in limited action today. Our entire Dline looked great so there may be more Frosh that I missed.

Mo' Wells looks good at times. He sees the hole and hits it very well right now, just needs to improve his strength a little bit to break some of those arm tackle. He will be a good one.

Jamario O'neal is going to hear it for at least a week from the Glenville crew. His bonehead block in the back cost Teddy a punt return TD. A little more seasoning and some discipline should have him ready to go as well.

I'm sure I missed some. I think overall we had guys stepping up everywhere today. Carry it over the bye week to Happy Valley and lets keep this train rolling.

For what it's worth, the call against Jamario was questionable at best. He touched the guys back, and the Iowa defender did his best acting job on that play.

I agree, you do not want Jamario getting the wrong idea, but that play could have easily ended up with Jamario as a hero, not a goat.

Keep playing the edge, that is what good D must do.
