2006 Big Ten Champions

Usually at this time of year we are all getting geared for spring football and counting down the days.

Not this year, we are talking march madness for both women and men.

It is great to be a buckeye.

I want to say thanks to the seniors for all the work they have put in.

Thanks to Thad Matta for what he is building here.

Same goes for Jim Foster.

And last but not least I want to say thanks to Andy Geiger for giving us the 3 best coaches he could of ever brought in.

Great thoughts, I concur in all areas. Really great stuff!!!!!!!!!

From the SI article...

[Coach] Matta addressed the crowd after the Big Ten trophy was presented to his players. "I asked these guys to help lay the foundation for the future of this program," he said at midcourt. "It looks pretty damned good to me right now."

The future looks good, indeed!

Today is a very good day to be a Buckeye... the men clinch the outright title and the women move onto the conference tournament finals... Way to go Buckeyes!

It's time for the men to celebrate tonight because the second season starts tomorrow!

Probably wouldn't very smart, seeing as we didn't win the football title outright, either (and since they beat us head-to-head). You could, however, mention that we have three titles to their one...they can't say shit about that.

I was referring to the fact that many of their fans fail to recognize our co-championship in football and refer to themselves as the sole 2005 Big Ten football champions due to their head-to-head win over us. Was just thinking that they might want to see what the standings really look like when an outright championship is won as opposed to shared.

considering we haven't won an outright football championship since the Reagan years, don't.

Point taken, but see response above. Anyway, I figured going over there with this as the sole purpose would be instant ban. Not that that would discourage you.
