No you would not be happy with that pick. Farmar is so overhyped it is not even funny. He was rated as the most overhyped player in the pac-10 by the player sna coaches in an SI article.
I see that they don't even put Quincy Douby in the first round, and there has been a lot of talk about the Cavs looking at him. He basically carried Rutgers this past year to any game they won. He is a pg/sg that will be a pg in the nba that can score and has a pretty good jump shot.
I also see that they have Marcus Williams falling to the 16th pick and the Chicago BUlls, I would so give up Drew Gooden in return for that pick, if we good do a sign and trade with Drew.
I also like Diaz who goes one pick below ours to the Lakers. I think he will be a good pg and he has a jumper and has been real impressive in workouts.
I don't think there is any question that the pick has to be pg tho. As for the second round, I would love to be pittsnoggled, he would be a great replacement for Donyell in a year or two, and he could really stretch the Defensive for LBJ.

It was a weird trade as far as the draft pick given but i'm 95% sure, no they do not get NY's pick for next year.

- So that would leave a best situation of having Rando/Lowry/Farmar, Douby/Ager, Diaz, Roby.
- If anyone of Collins, Foye, Williams, we should grab them and I think we all know why.
- I think these are the only guys that are worthy of our first round pick. I am not a fan of Farmar at all. I think he is way over hyped.
- As for Rando He is probably the most athleticly gifted pg in the draft and he can really get after you on the defesive end and his long arms really allow him to get in passing lanes and get steals. He also can take the ball to the hole and finish. His knock is jumper, which needs quite a bit of work, but he is working with Michael Jordan's shooting coach so that tells me he really wants to improve it.
- As for Lowry he is a very tough kid that gets the most out of his ability, he is a great defender. He shut down Felton a couple years ago in a sweet 16 matchup. He doesnt have a good jumper right now and he had a knee injury last year.
- I was a big fan of Douby, but not so sure any more. He has shown ability to put up pts and score on anyone. He had a 2/1 asst/to ratio and he led the big east in scoring with 24 pts/game. The knock on him, his his lack of size. he is only 175 so he could have trouble matching up with guys in the nba.
- I really like Diaz. He is another one of them guys that are very athletic, he has a 45 inch vertical leap, and has a great wingspan to be able and get in passing lanes. He also has a very good jumper. The question on him is wheter or not he is able to be more of a pg or an undersized 2 guard.
- Most of us know what Ager brings to the table and it is also more of 2 guard, but he might be the best available at the time, so we might be forced to take him.
- Roby is more of an unheard of guy that played at Colorado last year. I honestly dont even know if he declared for the draft, but a couple of them had us taking him. He sounded like he was a great scorer, but he is another guy that maybe be a 2 guard and not a pg.
- Then into the second round with these guys, I would love for us to maybe take a second g, who has a lot of potential, but is too much of a reach in the first round.
- I really like Allan Ray, I think he has a chance to be a scorer like Ben Gordan for the Bulls.
- Dee Brown might also be another one worth taking a look at, but he really struggled last year at times, but he has the quicknessvthat would be great to get the ball out in the open court and run, and should be able to match up with guys in the nba b/c of his quickness.

He's got a 40 inch vertical, runs the floor well and has great toughness at the position. While scouts wish he was a little taller (he's 6-foot-9 in shoes) and a little longer, his explosive athleticism and toughness remind some scouts of Kenyon Martin. The Nets need to get more athletic and tougher up front and Johnson, though a gamble, just might deliver.</TD></TR>

Well, I'm a Houston fan, and I like the idea of J.J. being a Rocket, and I see him as a great fit there. I think you're right about the eighth pick being too high for him, but anyway the Rockets could get him would be nice, either way.

apparently the Bulls can switch the pick to NYs next year's first round pick. If I was confident in Oden being 1 and done (which I'm not), then I would delay the pick for the 2007 draft.

They already received this years, pick as they got the 2 slot I believe and then they have the option next year of swapping if they have a better record than the knicks. I believe that is how the trade went down.
