2006 Spring Game info/discussion

Ok, how about this... I'll be on the Stadium side of the walk through between the ice rink and St. Johns an hour before kickoff.. Look for a geezer wearing a black baseball cap and either a scarlet BP tee shirt or a scarlet and gray striped rugby shirt... depends on the weather. I'm 6'2 and 240 so I'm easy to spot. If there's a bar you can get into at that time I'd go for that also.

I skimmed the topics of the threads, and didn't see anything that might tell me what the teams are for the spring game. Therefore, the teams must not have been picked (or, at least, they haven't been made public). Does anyone know when the teams will be picked?

All this talk about the RBs is getting me pumped even more for the season.
The greatest thing about it is depth. Think back to '02 when we lost Mo C, there was a HUGE dropoff at RB and the offense really struggled.
This year, we have 3 guys who would be able to carry the load during any given game, and while M Wells isn't a 25 carry/game type guy, we have proven the last couple of years that we can be effective and dangerous in the spread-type offense, and he would be perfect for that type of scheme, just like Sutton is at NW.
Basically, with the stable of RBs we have, ther is NOTHING that this O can't do effectively, and that has to suck for our opposing D Coordinators for the forseeable future.

What big piece of news have I missed? What happened to Pittman? I could understand arguments for why (or why not) CWells will be drafted ahead of Pittman, but I'm not even seeing him in the discussion.

And I thought he was going to be a junior next year. I'm not off by a year, am I?

Injured hammy I believe...not participating in Spring practice.

Nothing wrong, but the coaches have held Pittman out because he is nursing an old injury. He'll still be number 1 when the season starts. Nothing for him to prove in the spring.

i dont really agree with some of this line up either. lol

1. Freeman
2.Grant
3/4. Laurinaitis - these could be either way. Homan is amazing! Laurinaitis is amazing! both a really excitement to watch.
5. Terry
6. Spitler
7. Robison
8. Hoobler

Best of luck goes out to D'Andrea. would love to see him play this year!

No way is Grant the #2 LB right now. As osugrad21 observed in the Grant thread: "It was obvious Larry was not a polished product coming in....Larry has tremendous tools...just not ready for Big Ten football yet." No doubt Grant's potential is huge, but he's still raw for the D-I level...

Ok. Thanks. I hadn't heard that. I was seeing flashbacks to last year when I couldn't figure out why neither side drafted Kudla. (I forgot he was going to be a senior.)
