Columbus area teams...

Honestly, Alter's road to the state championship game is not frightful. Tippecanoe/Dunbar in the regional final, and Dante Jackson/Greenfield McClain in the FF possibly are the toughest games on paper in D-II.

Alter should have beaten Elder last night to go 13-1 in the GCL-outright champs for all divisions, except for the most horrible call I have ever seen-after blowing an 8 point lead at halftime, Alter trailed by as many as 10, before clawing back, and scoring on a breakaway layup w/ 1.6 seconds left to give them a 64-61 lead. However, Elder inbounded the ball, and Kyle Rudolph heaving a desperation 3 from beyond halfcourt-which fell short and to the right of the basket-but-Alter's Jordan Brown reached up and grabbed the ball out of the air-in front of and to the side of the hoop, for which he was called on goaltending-to tie the game! Elder won in OT by 2.

i havent seen very many teams this year, but it appears so...

do you have a kid playing? do you play for scioto? etc?

Played for Scioto... VERY past-tense. Don't get back to Columbus very often, so try to track things from the Dispatch, BP, etc.

Saw the Scioto team near Christmas and they reminded me of every team that's played for Tony B at DSHS: dramatically undersized, quick, tenacious and disciplined. They go 10-11 deep, though, which allows them to play at a ridiculous pace.

DSHS and UA play this Saturday in what a family friend once called the "Range Rover Classic"

This Week - Dublin

That is not hyperbole when you call that the worst call you have ever seen. I don't believe I've ever seen anything like that called...and in such a situation!

Played for the first three teams ever at Scioto - Albert and Ish Kamara days... He has had some very talented kids - not many all-state level talents.
