2007 U.S. Army Junior Combine

A couple of guys that surprised me with their measureables:

O/DL Shawntel Rowell: 350lbs at 6'3" is, imo, way to big for a DT and a 5.58 40 is way too slow. He needs to lose some weight and get in a serious speed training program, or he doesn't get an offer.

LB Jamiihr Williams: He was a lot bigger than I thought. 6'2" 225 is solid. He didn't have a 40 time, but his 4.31 pro agility is right up there with some of the "speed" position guys (RB/CB Lamaar Thomas had a 4.31 as well)

RB Jamal Womble: I would like to see Jamal in this class, but he needs to bring down the reported 4.81 40 time. He has great size, just needs better speed.

WR Cordale Scott: Syas he is up to 195, probably 200 by now.

I run a faster 40 time than that, but if he loses the right amount of weight and work on his speed, I think he'll be fine.

Stoneburner did nothing to hurt himself with his numbers, 14 reps of 185 pounds, good numbers in the Pro Agility (4.37) and 40-yd dash (4.54), 32 inch vertical, weighing in at 218 pounds and 6 foot 5 inches. Dwayne Jarrett with actual speed?

Calvin Johnson's little brother?

Show me a time when a DT will need to run 40 yards to make a play and I will show you a pathetic defense...

A DT is judged on his burst, lateral agility, and motor...40 time is irrelevant.

I agree, and his film showed burst...

Either way he was up around 370 most of last season, so lets hope that he is on his way to losing weight...He looked like he had drop some weight in the signing day pictures...

Also as for Cordale Scott being up around 200 he weighed in at 197 at the combine in Cleveland last week...

I can tell you for sure that he has lost 15-20 lbs. last summer and is continually getting in better football shape. I think it's to the point right now where we just need to get him in and we can worry about the s&c coach having him at the right playing size. I think he has the stuff but I haven't heard a peep about grades. But I'm with what grad said, I'm not in the slightest worried about a 40 time for a DT.
