Heres Their Article On Ohio State from Athlon.

National Forecast: 12
Big Ten Prediction: 3

Offense: Troy Smith performed wizardry virtually every week of the 2006 regular season for Ohio State, but the magic ran out in the BCS national title game against Florida, as his eligibility. With the hocus pocus clearly gone as wells as playmakers Ted Ginn Jr., Anthony Gonzalez and Antonio Pittman -- the Buckeyes are going to have to go back to out-executing and overpowering opponents in the trenches. They appear to have the offensive line to get things going with behemoths Alex Boone and Steve Rehring -- who are both 6'8" and over 320 pounds -- back to man the left side and another 300-pound-plus bruiser, Kirk Barton, still entrenched at right tackle. However, those three and tight end Rory Nicol represent the entirety of starters returning to the offense. Barton is the unit's only starting senior.

The new faces behind the blockers are fresh and exciting, especially at tailback -- where 6'1" 225-pound Chris "Beanie" Wells will move into a workhorse role. The powerful sophomore will be OSU's primary weapon on offense this year. True freshman Brandon Saine offers a speedy change of pace.

At Receiver, the cupboard isn't as bare as one might expect. Brian Robiskie and Brian Hartline are crafty, sure-handed performers, and the coaches think Ray Small, the team's most natural flanker, can keep defenses honest as a vertical threat.

Smith's successor, who appears to be junior Todd Boeckman, is tall and aggressive, but he could continue to get a push from Robbie Schoenhoft or even Antonio Henton, a Smith clone who is still raw.

Thanks for the info. on Athlon....I only have lindy's at the moment. Rep. will be on the way when the "man" stops trying to keep me down.

Agreed on Notre Dame but after reading through some of Lindy's there are a lot of people drinking the Michigan kool-aid. Another thing it looks like if we somehow lose to Washington(don't think it will happen) it is going to kill us nationally because in Lindy's they pick them to be #66 and finish 8th in the Pac-10.

Defense: The winner of the Bronko Nagurski Award, middle linebacker James Lauriniaitus is a nice focal point in the epicenter of OSU's 4-3 defense. He'll have plenty of help, too. Former junior college All-American Larry Grant appears primed for a bang-up season on the strong side, and weak-side backer Marcus Freeman, the team's second-leading tackler behind Laurinaitis last season, is an All-Big Ten candidate in his own right.

The defensive front has to replace three departed standouts, including Quinn Pitcock, yet still flaunts loads of talent and depth.

Athletic end Lawrence Wilson appears ready to step right in and make an impact. If Wilson performs to his ability, he will provide a perfect bookend to Vernon Gholston, who led Ohio State with 8.5 sacks last season. Todd Delinger, Doug Worthington and Dexter Larimore all could be in line for breakout prize recruit Robert Rose can help on the interior or at end.

The secondary still needs an identity but boasts shutdown corner Malcom Jenkins and the fast-developing Kurt Coleman, who should nail down one of the safety spots.

Specialists: Placekicker Aaron Pettrey and punter A.J. Trapasso could be big keys to the success of the Buckeyes. If they become reliable performers, coach Jim Tressel can better manage field position and hang his hat on his defense. Saine and Jenkins could be exciting return men but aren't likely to make anyone forget about the record-setting Ginn.

Final Analysis: With only a handful of returning starters on each side of the ball and without some of the most electrifying skill position players in program history, Ohio State has its work cut out for it if it is tor return to the top of the Big Ten and the BCS bowl equation. Still, the Buckeyes should be able to negotiate a relatively soft schedule if Boeckman emerges and the secondary holds up.
