Well, night games at LSU are one of the special events of college football. Everyone should go to one before they die.

Big difference. (But since we only lost one to you in the 90s, I can't say it made that much difference  The LSU win in '97 beating the #1 Gators was an amazing game atmosphere that night)

Is this where I remind everyone that UF has a winning record in Death Valley? :p

Was one hell of a night!
I still have a hard time believing THAT team was able to take y'all down that year.

That night is right up there with best game atmosphere's I've ever experienced. Along with last year's UF game, and several late night wars with Auburn over the years.

nah, no reason to ever mention something like that.

There has been some pretty high profile SEC OOC loses (Georgia) and near loses (LSU to Troy) recently. I remember reading a discussion (I think it was here) about the remaining SEC OOC games and how the SEC should win at least half of them. Does anyone have a link to each Conferences 2008 OOC games and wins/loses? Did some googling but I'm not finding anything.

While I'm at it...Exhibit B as to why the SEC is not the dominant Conference in the NCAA:

Coming into today...
Vanderbilt (SEC) - 6-5 overall, 4-4 in Conference Play
Wake Forest (ACC) - 6-5 overall, 4-4 in Conference Play

These two teams played each other...and Wake Forest won, 23-10. SEC homers like to write Vanderbilt off as if they don't count, but Vandy got 4 wins in the SEC, and Wake Forest got 4 wins in the obviously INFERIOR ACC...and then beat Vandy.

Hard to argue with that...

It's worth noting that the SEC had the worst combined record this year in games against teams from other BCS conferencees. The ACC was the best, going 14-9 overall with six road wins and a 6-4 record against the SEC. Here's the breakdown:
ACC -14-9
Big East - 8-8
Big 12 - 6-7
Big Ten - 6-7
Pac-10 - 6-8
SEC - 6-9
This year, the SEC had two super teams and not much else.

Not my words or research, but pretty interesting stats if this is the truth.

No question a down year in the SEC. UT was invisible, as was Auburn, which is not the case normally.

The SEC is not the premier conference this year for sure.

But the upcoming game with the Tide should be a good one. I hope we do the conference proud.

congrats on the win Gator...I have little desire to check out the game thread.

When I heard it was going to be a downpour, I immediately thought "oh shit". When you have a straight forward bull in Tebow with his weapons, I had a feeling it'd be difficult. This morning on Gameday, Herbstreit said rain would favor the Noles' heavily, and I laughed.

That was another ass-shoopin'. Good luck in the SEC championship. I think I'm pulling for the Gates, but it's difficult to predict until the ball is kicked off.

Thanks Bill. Your O-line is gonna be good the next couple of years. You are starting two or three freshmen and the rest sophmores. I think that you lose some of your offense to the pros tho... We do not have a senior on defense, so even tho we lose our star linebacker, we have a good core of starters returning.

And, not to be rude, you might lose one or two receivers to off the field problems by next fall. I don't think Reed gets it. Gano is a big loss. He was great today. I thought Urban took the foot off the gas a little at the end. Bobby was very gracious in defeat, talking some good stuff about Tebow. He was chatting up Urban during the handshake, and Urb kept trying to leave, only to have Bobby add some more comments. :tongue2:

I do not think that the joint command structure is working. Jimbo needs to be in control of it all. Bobby said that he is deciding about coming back, so I guess the JoPa-Bobbah duel is still on. The thing we both have to watch out for is the rise of the other new Florida programs. They are getting some of the good guys we used to get, in addition to the Yankees raiding our state on a regular basis.

I hope your guys who were injured are OK. The damn field caused a bunch of injuries on both sides.

Ya, the field was a bitch today. I think the injuries occurred because ankles were dragging on the ground 5-6 yards after contact and just getting rolled on. That and he obvious lack of turf to cut on. That damn field cost FSU a touchdown on Jermaine Thomas' 10 yard slip fest, and a first down on the reverse where Goodman slipped trying to make a cut. I'm sure Florida was screwed by the field as well, but when FSU needed to keep pace, they just couldn't catch a beak. And by the way, when UF is easily good enough to jam it down our throats, is it really necassry to throw TE throw backs, TE shuffle screens, and all of that other unguardable bull[censored]. It's so frustrustrating as an opposing fan. It was like watching the 2006 National Title game all over again.

I honestly laughed out loud on the fake field goal at the end of the half. What the hell kind of call was that? It's probably a good thing he fell, as UF had downfield coverage. Just a miserable play-call, especially when Gano is automatic.

I'm still shocked Ole Miss pulled the upset in the Swamp. You guys are too talented to let that [censored] happen. I'm thinking you and USC are probably the most talented teams in the country, but Oklahoma and Texas are stacked too. Hopefully Harvin's anlkle isn't too bad, and your squad is 100%. Good luck.
