Date Changes For Ohio State Spring Game

Due to a change in the University's academic calendar, the 2008 Ohio State Spring Football Game has been moved up a week and will be played on April 19 in Ohio Stadium. The game had been scheduled for April 26.

Last year's Spring Game attracted a school record crowd of 75,301, surpassing the previous high of 64,000 set in 2006.
The 2008 Coaches Clinic will now be held April 17-19.

Because of a change in Ohio State's academic calendar, the 2008 spring football game has been moved up and will be played April 19 in Ohio Stadium, the university's athletics communications office said today. The game had been scheduled for April 26. A crowd of 75,301 attended this year's scarlet-and-gray game, surpassing the previous high of 64,000 in 2006.
The 2008 coaches clinic also was rescheduled to April 17-19.

Once a simple exhibition played for steaks and bragging rights, the Ohio State University spring game has turned into a feast for football fans.

The table could get bigger next year.

The university is in talks with a New York marketing company to be a host site for the Gridiron Bash, a party that would be held the day before the spring game at Ohio Stadium. The event, which would take place April 18, would include a concert, games, a pep rally and strategy sessions with former Buckeye players.
