Its not racist. Everyone knows smart guys are slow. Its the first rule of recruiting. You can either be smart or fast, you can't be both.

Besides, how pissed would scUM fans be if a sudden influx of smart slow guys put a dent in that gaudy win% Rich has working up there? Its just not worth it. Guys smart enough to actually go to college are completely overrated in college football.

Those guys are called walk-ons. In addition to working on the scout teams, their job is to raise the overall GPA of the team, balancing the GPA's of guys who think they are headed to the NFL in three years.

Imagine that, admissions had valid reasons to reject Dorsey, and it wasn't a scathing detail that they made this decision before the final scores were in (which has been the smoking gun touted all along by conspiracy makers). They didn't need them to question the validity of the LifeSkills school he used to raise his grades quite a bit.

Of course, these articles are being spun on GBW just like the rest as another attack on poor RR, when in reality they had a very legitimate reason to go from "you can get in with these scores" in Feb to now saying "those scores aren't enough" given how they were achieved.

Demar Dorsey will play for Louisville and Charlie Strong, who recruited him at UF.

I get the comfort with Coach Strong, but I can't help but wonder why he's not playing at FSU or somewhere else if everything is in order.

winslow, I think FSU pulled his offer after he chose Michigan the first time. After he didn't get in, I don't think the went back after him.

True, but he was looking at Miami, LSU, USC, WVU, Ark & Louisville when this news broke. Louisville can't afford to pass on a gamble like Dorsey, many of the others can. There are a lot of bigger fish that didn't end up very involved at all from what we've read on the internet.

I threw FSU in there because I've seen too many recruits or schools (allegedly, since there are no direct quotes) claim a school is completely dropped only to end up there later.

A question for any Michigan fans frequenting this board:
If Richrod doesn't deliver an eye popping season this time around the block, with his seat already being somewhat warm do you foresee the school administration using the major violation card in his contract to send him packing?

That was something many expected heading into the NCAA proceedings, particularly because RR's on field results & off-field interactions have won him few friends in Ann Arbor,

They backed themselves into RR's corner moving forward by their wording to the NCAA, which was a bit surprising. LightningRod or others can expand on this better (or find their posts earlier in this thread), but their response aligned Michigan with RR on what happened and why. If they reverse their stance after another bad season, they would probably be laughed out of court during the wrongful termination lawsuit (if they used that).

But in that case dismissal would have to be timed with findings, not record. They can't decide later to dismiss RR based on what has already been revealed, or his attorneys will simply argue that the dismissal is precisely what it appears to be.
