2011 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Baseball

Won the league tournament and finished at 41-18. Got the three seed at the Clem's son regional and open with UConn on Friday. We went up there this year and lost 5-4 in 10. We might get Matt Barnes on Friday, consensus first round Junior. Should be interesting. Uconn is 41-17-1. Clemson finished at 41-18 and Sacred Heart, the fourth seed finished at 34-21.

Took Uconn down 13-1 in the first game and it wasn't even that close. Chased Barnes after 5 or so, I think he gave up 9 earned. Get the winner between Clemson and Sacred Heart tomorrow at 7. It's damn hot around here too...

Shake it off coastalbuck and get 'em tomorrow. At least you had decent run production.

Had 6 SEC teams win today, Bama lost to FSU. Fricking ACC :shake:

I thought the Chants had it after they Answered Lamb's leadoff HR with a run and runners in scoring position but the rally fizzled.

Yeah. But 12 runs is a boat load to overcome.

Clemson had 14 hits to the Chants 12. When you get 'em is the thing. Clemson even had two errors. Shame. I was hoping they would pick those bastards off tonight.

ASU is plunger raping Charlotte.

We've got to get some outs against those guys. That's a big ballpark for the ball to be flying out of. I guess hot+calm+small strike zone equals a lot of hard hit balls that carry. We still have some pitching left but it is a big hill to climb. I think the righty Conway is going against Uconn but he may not be in too long. The revolving door on the bull pen may start up about the third or forth inning. We have to win but save some pitches up at the same time. One difference this year, we do have a fair number of guys in the pen of all types, left, right, submarine, sidearm, combination, strikes, junk ect. Probably not as many as Clemson, but it's getting better every year and that's what makes a difference at this time of the year.

BTW, the home plate shaped cut out at home in Gainsville is offensive to purists and groundskeepers everywhere. I think Grad would agree. Try this, sans logo of course.

Disappointing but next year is next year. We'll go after it then with a lot of new faces. We're gonna lose some quality men this year, good luck to them all. Thanks for the notice around here, it's appreciated. The best to you guys too. I'll be watching. :)
