Trolololol
for anyone interested into E3, it starts today with Microsoft.

The big news coming out is Xbox.com accidently leaked a picture and link to a Halo 4 game that is going to be announced (it was taken down pretty quick), Microsoft starts at 12 EST.

For those that don't know what E3 is, it's basically a huge press conf for us nerds for the companies too announce their new products for the next year (whether that be games, consoles, or just general products)

Microsoft integrates live TV from Sky TV, Foxtel and Canal on Xbox 360 -- more providers coming
The Kinect and Bing-powered voice search that can pull in content from online sources like Hulu, Netflix and Xbox Live Marketplace, will also work with live TV from IPTV partners. So far that list only includes Sky in the UK, Foxtel in Australia and Canal+ in France, but users there will be able to search across all the services and view them directly through the console itself. There's no word on any US-based partners but if we had to guess AT&T's U-verse will probably be first in line again. One thing you will be able to watch in the US -- PPV UFC fights, streamed directly to the Xbox 360.
Live TV coming to the 360...

Microsoft's Kinect-based UI for XBL has Bing voice search across Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and live TV
With the explosive popularity of the Kinect add-on, it looks like the system is being refashioned with support built in from the ground up as opposed to the current menu system that's more of an afterthought. Also mentioned on the page are Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports Season 2 and most importantly, two new Halo games. One is Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary which appears to be the HD (& possibly 3D) remake leaked by Joystiq previously, while the other is Halo 4 -- no explanation needed.
demonstrations of a deeply integrated voice command setup powered by Kinect. YouTube has been announced as an Xbox Live partner, while Bing is coming to the console to let users search across Netflix, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Hulu all at once. That universal search also extends to new live TV partnerships with Sky, Canal+ and Foxtel.
Kinect support explodes, EA Sports, Mass Effect 3, and more hop on board
Kinect is almost as popular for its hacks as it is for actually playing games, but Microsoft and its third party developers are making a hard push for motion and voice-controlled games on the Xbox 360. Popular EA Sports franchises Madden NFL, FIFA World Cup, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour will all join the motion-gaming parade. No longer will you have to punch obscure sequences of buttons to pick plays, you'll actually be able to call out running patterns to your offensive line. Plenty of others are also getting in on the shouting and arm-flailing action, including Mass Effect 3, Forza Motorsport 4, Fable: The Journey, and Ghost Recon -- in fact, we were told, "all future titles in the Tom Clancy franchise will leverage Kinect." Crytek also offered a sneak peak at Ryse, a Roman-era brawler that will have you headbutting the air to take out baddies. Looks like you'll have to start stretching before firing up your console from now on.

The following games will also be coming to Xbox 360 with Kinect Support:
  • Minecraft
  • Disneyland Adventures
  • Kinect Star Wars
  • Sesame Street Once Upon a Monster
  • Kinect Fun Labs
  • Kinect Sports: Season 2
  • Dance Central 2
Update: We've got a slew of demo videos of Kinect Fun Labs after the break -- it's Kinect hacks for the masses!

This might be the best new feature for the 360:

Xbox Live adds cloud saves, 'beacons' that tell friends what you want to play
2social3button0523.jpg

These may not have made the cut to appear in Microsoft's E3 keynote earlier today but gamers will probably appreciate two new features mentioned in a letter from Xbox Live General Manager Marc Whitten. "Cloud Storage for Game Saves and Live Profiles" is first up and provides access to ones profile and saves from any console, at any time with the option to save to XBL servers instead of a memory unit or hard drive. It all sounds very similar to the service offered for PlayStation Plus but as Joystiq notes, so far exact details are scant. The other feature mentioned is support for "Beacons" which go one step further than broadcasting what you're playing or watching right now by allowing users to flag what they want to play, and lets friends on XBL or Facebook see that so they can meet you for a game. Check out the full letter after the break or over on the 'stiq, we'll sit back and dream of a future world where bringing our XBL profile by a friend's house to keep track of our beatdowns is as easy as just logging in.
Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel will arrive in early October for $60, give you something to hold on to

... A new Wireless Speed Wheel has just been revealed, with a reasonable $60 price tag and an early October launch date. As you see above, it's technically three-fourths of a wheel, but that does allow for extra green bands of lights to be applied and, slightly more importantly, a set of directional and action buttons to be added to the handles of this steering implement. There's a rumble pack inside for force feedback and a pair of trigger buttons on the underside for smashing the gas or dabbing the brakes....

Nyko cures Kinect's farsightedness
E3 2011 is upon us, and you know what that means, a heaping helping of new gaming gear from Nyko. Zoom for Kinect is a set of clip-on specs that lets you get 40 percent closer to the sensor bar with no loss of function -- so the studio apartment set can get in on the gesture gaming craze.

Sony's PlayStation Vita official: $249 for WiFi, $299 for 3G
...the Vita will be listed at $249 for the WiFi-only model, or $299 for the 3G version. ...

The device, also known as the PS Vita, offers up six-axis motion sensors, dual analog controls (proper ones, with thumbsticks), front- and rear-facing cameras, an OLED touchscreen, and a touchpad on the back, too. The company showed off a number of top-tier titles, including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, a hack-and-slash RPG called Ruin, a new ModNation Racers, LittleBigPlanet, and Street Fighter x Tekken, each showing off plenty of motion and touch interactivity... things that we couldn't be more elated to try for ourselves in due time. They're all looking quite good, and honestly a bit more advanced than what the 3DS has delivered so far -- for the same money.

Update: Check out our hands-on impressions from E3!

Sony introduces PlayStation-brand 3D monitor and 3D glasses, bundle available for $499
Jack Tretton just announced PS3 gamers can get into the 3D game for much less this fall when the company launches a 24-inch monitor and active shutter LCD glasses under the PlayStation brand. $499 gets the monitor, a pair of glasses, an HDMI cable and a copy of Resistance, while additional pairs of glasses -- which are compatible with TVs from other manufacturers and can be used to give two split-screen gamers their own full screen view -- are $69. That's a competitive package to be sure, but many will likely still need to be convinced slipping on the specs is worthwhile, and competitors like Vizio are slipping passive 3D glasses TVs in with similar price points and similar features.

Update: Sony has issued a press release (included after the break) with full specs: it's a 1080p edge LED lit LCD with two HDMI inputs, stereo speakers, an integrated subwoofer and claims to be the first display at this size with "quad speed frame sequential display technology". The glasses charge via USB and will be available at the same time as the screen this fall.
While I'm a big fan of a second monitor (so roommates, significant others, family members can watch TV simultaneously), I'm curious whether people are willing to drop half a grand on such a small monitor. You can buy a big flat panel for that price.

Nyko brings bountiful battery life and alarm clock capability to the 3DS
Nyko's Play Clock is a charging dock for Nintendo's 3DS that doubles as an alarm clock, because you always wanted to turn your 3DS into an alarm clock. Nintendo's new handheld could definitely use some longer battery life, however, so the company's also rolling out three new extended battery packs for the 3DS. There's the Shock n' Rock that brings thrice the juice, "added vibration feedback," and four speakers to your personal gaming party, while the Power Grip is an ergonomic external battery that also triples the 3DS' battery life. Lastly, the Game Boost battery simply snaps on for an extra hour or two of gameplay.

These battlefield 3 PC videos show why the 10x weaker console GPUs are long overdue for an upgrade. You can see the big difference in graphics with the CoD trailer, played on the 360 instead of the PC.

It will be interesting to see if they can match the online community that the PC versions used to have. The graphics were mediocre for those titles but the community of maps made it terrific.

kinda pissed about the Halo CE remake, I was looking really forward to it til I found out the multiplayer is just Reach but with 7 maps from CE. So it's not gonna be the Halo CE we all know and love.

When is the CE remake due out? Did I miss a link somewhere?
