2011 TSUN shenanigans and arguments (off season)

To pay to read his [Mark May]...you either have to be as dumb as Mark May, or a sheep.

OR appreciate the comedy of his posts and recognize the fee as generating solid and frequent lolz per dollar spent.

I paid more per year to watch comedy movies and laughed far less right up until they banned me.

Russell Wilson > Hairlice as a QB

Beaver needs to put down the piss and bruised colored crack pipe.
Some on here were saying they'd take Persa, Cousins, Denard, Scheelhaase, and even early-2010 Taylor Martinez over Wilson before the season started.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but it's interesting to see how much that's changed.

I don't normally do this, but.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I want to see proof of someone on a Buckeye message board who said he'd rather have Robinson than Wilson.

Thought someone might ask.

I would take Persa, Robinson, Scheelhaase, Early in last year T Mart, and maybe Cousins over Wilson. Marve, Vandenburg and Brax could pass him by end of year too.

Don't leave out Moxie from State Penn... oh nevermind... he sucks now.

Me thinks your evidence is 'someone here said' as opposed the plural your original post on this matter would suggest. Dig deep enough here and you may find someone who thought Woody was a bad coach.
Fair enough. But there were several people who had a pretty good list of quarterbacks that they said they would take before Wilson. As I said, it's easy to look back at it now, but I was asked to provide evidence, and did just that.

Credible Rumors

... that Meyer and PSU is heating up

Funny, I don't remember any pinned threads for Urban to OSU rumors, which have been rampant.

Oh Thomas, your agenda is as transparent as ever.

Better psu than tGA.
Good better than OHIO
would be fine with that, good for the big 10, and better than him going to OSU

I was just going to post in another thread that it seems that the Meyer and PSU rumors had some validity with all this coming out. This has got to be as much of a done deal as there is (it would seem from afar).
 Oh their coping mechanisms are comical.

wow, not sure that is better than OHIO. That will make competition overall even stronger. You know OSU would be fine, but PSU returning to greatness was not as much of a gaurantee.
One of the few sane ones.
Curious who's doing the negotiating on PSU's behalf considering their AD is SOL right now.
Yeah, that is a pretty big hole in the theory, huh?
TJB, do you have a hunch as to what he'll do? Is there still a possibility that he won't coach because uh, last I heard, he had health issues.
never answered this, or whether this was from the radio station... probably because it was.

I might have to make another account over there. I've missed his comedic stylings since you've started posting them again. It still boggles the mind that anybody would pay money for his "info" for anything other than comedy relief.

It's gonna get good. The Urban drama is going to be a repeat of his fantastic TP coverage from 4 years ago.

BTW, I'm pretty sure I know where he got the basis for this opus...there was a thread on the psu board today about Urban supposedly buying real estate near Happy Valley. It was swiftly debunked. Beav really "working his sources".

I was one of them. My list was shorter than the one you presented though. I said I'd take Cousins and Persa ahead of him.

Persa is a difficult comparison because there is a significant talent gap between his supporting cast and Wilson's. At this point though I'll concede that Wilson's better on durability alone.

Cousins has disappointed me a bit this year. At best, he has been uneven. I think that when he and Wilson went head-to-head, Cousins outplayed his counterpart for much of the game. All in all though I'll concede that Wilson is having a better season on the whole.

I also said after seeing Wilson play against MSU and OSU that he probably was indeed the best QB in the Big Ten this year. In my opinion though, that's damning him with faint praise. I think he has shown himself to be the same slightly above-average QB that he was at NC State - but the QB play across the rest of the the Big Ten has been so poor that it leaves him at the top of the heap this year.

I can take that.

I think my analysis of Wilson after the first game still holds true today - that is, some nice throws mixed in with some questionable misses. His two intentional groundings in back-to-back games were incredibly damaging, and he tends to get wide-eyed when the pocket starts to collapse.

All told though, he's lightyears ahead of the other options we would've had coming into the year, and he's been very, very fun to watch.

To be fair, I asked for proof of "someone" saying he'd rather have Robinson than Wilson. So.. 1 point to sparcboxbuck, and 1 point to Bucky32.
I didn't know anything about Russell Wilson prior to going to Wisconsin. But, against most Big Ten defenses, I'd probably rather have a bottle of gatorade take snaps than Shoestring.
