2011 TSUN shenanigans and arguments (off season)

Their fan base is so delusional that they think OSU, MSU, ND, etc. are obsessed with them. They truly believe that all any of those three above mentioned schools only car about beat them (games and on the recruiting trial).
This thread is 59 pages long. Just sayin'. And we don't think MSU is obsessed with is, we know they are.

Anyway, it's a rivalry. Shouldn't there be some degree of obsession?

....if you want someone to tap into the minds of Michigan fans, Captain Planet ain't your guy. I'll do him lots better. Your counter there used to be an honest-to-god source of irratation to Michigan fans, but not any more. Why? Because we know for a fact that it happened last year with an uneven playing field: ineligible players, and that Tressel knew it. Which of course opens the question in folks' minds about how many other times the playing field wasn't level, either. NCAA penalties aside, I'd say the #1 intangible result of the shitstorm is that Michigan fans really did used to grit their teeth and say "we gotta get rid of that counter" and now, honestly, nobody cares.

scummers can rationalize the counter however they want....

The Tat 5 would have been on the field for that game had Tressel spilled the beans so this is irrelevant. They would have got the AJ green 4 game suspension at the beginning of the season. Not to mention that we could have beat last years scUM team with Sheridan as our QB.

It's been at least as long as that counter says since the playing field has been level, scUM fan... and that's got nothing to do with NCAA eligibility issues.

119 posts in this thread are from WolverineMike.

44 are from germ.

15 are from zwem.

4 are from WolverineTX.

and 2 are from you.

So that's at least 184 posts (over 20% of the total) in this thread from Michigan fans on an Ohio State message board. And how many of the other posts in this thread are direct responses to those posts from Michigan fans? I don't care to figure it out, but it's safe to say a whole helluva lot of them.

So whom is obsessed with who?

Your rebuttal, sir.

Rebuttal: That the thread was still started by an OSU fan.

:roll2:. Right--scUMmers don't care about the clock. They don't care so much that they find the need to go to trip over themselves and go out of their way on Buckeye message boards to attempt to explain why they don't care.

Your message is one big coping mechanism. Even had Tressel ratted out the Tat 5, they would've been given a 5 game or so suspension, and would've been back on the field in time to blast scUM again in November. As for your lame attempt to extrapolate 2010 to other seasons, well, I'll leave those theories to you and your tinfoil hat-wearing brethren over at mgoblog. If my team had gotten its pants handed to it 9 years out of 10, maybe I'd be doing the same. Nah, I wouldn't.

I know this. I also don't lump you in with the detritus that is the common mindset.

Which is all fine and well. Personally, I'm of the mindset that the second string Buckeyes would have won THE GAME last year as well. Therefore, the Tat5 is an irrelevant consideration.

So would you care for some intrepid soul to go figure out how many threads are started about Ohio State on Michigan message boards by Michigan fans?

If that is the metric, I believe we have two threads started a year on the topic of Michigan. I'm willing to bet there are more than that about Ohio State within the first 20 threads on just about every Michigan message board out there right now.

you sure aren't the brightest bulb on this board. did you know that the ohio state-m*ch*gan game is played in late november? as stated, suspensions would have ended weeks and weeks before the game.

let's also not forget that your staff was found cheating in such a manner as to gain a competitive advantage. sure, it wasn't an extreme form of cheating. obviously. your program has sucked. nonetheless, it opens the questions in folks' minds about how many other times the playing field wasn't level, either.

by the way, how level was the playing field in these games?:

scum 20 versus (6-7) msu 26
scum 13 versus (3-9) illinois 38
scum 36 versus (5-7) purdue 38
scum 20 versus (5-7) illinois 45
scum 10 versus (3-9) toledo 13
scum 42 versus (4-8) purdue 48
scum 32 versus (division 2) appy state 34

heck, let's include these outstanding "victories":

scum 42 versus (division 2) massachusetts 37
scum 42 versus (5-7) indiana 35
scum 36 versus (4-8) indiana 33
scum 16 versus (2-10) miami of ohio 6

recognize that you root for a program that has been beaten down by a bunch of really bad programs and has narrowly escaped victory against even more really bad programs. with a squad of walk-ons, ohio state would have beaten your skunkbears.

The mods lump them all into one or two here. They don't do that elsewhere. Regardless, if you're trying to get me to feel shame about my own (or my own fanbase's) supposed obsession with OSU, I direct you to the part of the original thread that pointed out that it's a rivalry and it's to be expected. I never said "we're not obsessed but you are," just pointed out the irony of denying obsession with Michigan in a 59- (now 60) page thread devoted to the topic.

Yeah, I've noticed a few people saying as such, thanks. That being the likely case, why didn't that happen in the first place? When the NCAA vacates games, they don't say "well they would've only been suspended for five games, so that's all we'll vacate." They sweep it all clean. Ask Bobby Bowden.
