He appears to have very little speed. I think you can certainly rule him out for anything outside, maybe he can fill some type of a slot role. But he was already lacking big play speed as a recruited WR, now that he has bulked up to play TE he just doesn't posses the type of agility you'd expect from a wide-out.

Not a knock on him, but he's where he should be right now at TE.

I think TY has the measurables to be very good, we'll see how he progresses in the off-season. Corey Brown showed nice athleticism and speed, but very little polish as a wide-out so that's a bit concerning. Chris Fields is one to watch but his measurables aren't amazing.

My biggest concern at this point, and hopefully TY can grow into it, but I just don't see a playmaker currently outside that you can say "go make a play for us".

Duron would have been huge for this club, but it just appears he never fully appreciated what it took to be a student, and what it would take to get back. Look for a very run-heavy squad next year which might even be a good thing. I'm guessing we become a big play pass team next year based off of play-action. I expect Corey Brown to be a big play threat on homeruns, but I'm very concerned about the intermediate pass game where receivers need to set up DB's. Just not sure we have that type of experience/player on the outside.

I've seen 6'6 players who play like they're 5'10 though. You need great ball-skills, timing, and athleticism to be similar to a Calvin Johnson/Randy Moss.

It's exciting to think about what TY can bring to the field, but I'm reluctant to get too excited without seeing him play against Division 1 talent. I know his bowl practices were supposedly excellent, so I look forward to hearing about him this off-season.

You get what I mean Though. And the way the reports were out of Camp, and Bowl practices. And with all the praise of the coaches, especially what coach Hazell said. Im gonna get my hopes up :)

I'm relaxed, thanks. I know JT will hire someone great. It's just that with NLOI day looming, it would be nice to nail this down so WR recruits (like Story) could get to know their potential position coach.

Just by the way, you don't know with any certainty that Story will ever visit. Getting a little late in the process.

Way Too Early Look: 2011 Receivers

Yes, the beginning of next season is coming together like the perfect storm... if that storm resulted in a non-productive passing attack. The Buckeyes lose their most consistent receiver in Sanzenbacher, their most dynamic receiver in Posey, return almost zero experience behind them, and as the sour cherry on top, will be breaking in a brand new quarterback.

The return of Posey and Pryor from suspension will obviously provide a jolt at some point during the season, but even the most optimistic fan has to admit that if the running game is not clicking right away, the Buckeyes may be in trouble early in the year.

As bleak as things may seem, all is not lost. This is Ohio State, and there are talented receivers... we just haven't seen much of them on the field yet.

So, in order to introduce the players as well as to inject some optimism in the conversation, what follows is a little 'this player may remind you of...' analysis.
