Damn..It just hit me....what a long summer it will be.

I know what you meant, can't wait for September 1st...but compared to last summer, this summer should be infinitely better!

Loved what I saw today at the 'Shoe. Offense still has some work to do but they showed a lot of promise and they are still pretty young. So beyond pumped about the future!!!!!!

GO BUCKEYES!!!

:oh:

I agree we have guys who "can make plays." But we don't seem to have "explosive playmakers" of the caliber of Terry Glenn, Teddy Ginn and Beanie Wells: guys who are a serious threat to take it the distance every time they touch the ball.

Actually, Carlos Hyde may be closest to that status. And Brax, though he is not a burner, is elusive and clever enough to make any D-coordinator sleep fitfully. Just not the home-run threat that even Terrelle Pryor was (though overall I think Miller will be the better QB).

I understand what you are saying. I guess what I meant is that while we don't appear to have that "1" guy that defenses better know where he is at all times, we have what 5-6 guys that you better not forget about. I'm not including Brax in that 5-6.

I assume most teams know they need to cover him..but once he gets moving he is such a threat that a defender is going to want to come off his man to help. Who are you as a defender going to leave alone? Stony, Boren, Hall, Smith, Thomas, Hyde, Dunn..to name a few.

Would it be nice to have a guy that could go the distance on any given play? Of course. However with an entire change in offensive philosophy it's nice to know that we have quite a few guys IMO that can move the chains
on any given play.

Seeing Urban out there on the field looks very strange to me, after seeing so much of him down here in Florida for 7 years.

I keep waiting for Tressel to appear somewhere. But the One on One drill in the middle of the field got me all fired up. It was just like that in 2001 when
Tressel that very same drill (maybe it was more players than that) going and that was way back when you could walk on the practice field behind Woody ayes athletic center.

And it was good to see Kenny Guiton looking very good in his performance out there also. Nice to know he will be the back-up to Miller should he go down with an injury. I wonder if alot of people think that Guiton has a better arm than Miller.

Michael Bennett looked great out there. He will be another high draft choice for the Buckeyes.

Adam Bellamy looked very good.

Steve Smith looked like hes ready to play some B10 ball.

If Chris Carter could drop down to 325-330 range he could get some serious PT especially against traditional power run teams in short yardage and goal line defenses. Heck hes got 4 more years.

I think the WR's looked alot better. I know what Urban is saying about a "playmaker" but IMO he is playing possum a bit. Brown, Smith, and Thomas looked great out there. Southward and Frank Epitropolous come this summer and maybe one of them will pull a Thomas. Add Verlon Reed to the mix and I'm happy right now.

Nick Vannett has some skills at TE...he dropped a couple but he also had one hell of a catch of a deflction. I think he showed great promise.

Tanner had a great HIT.

RB's looked very good.

Guiton has made more improvement in 4 months than about any player I can think of in Buckeye history...man what a transformation.

I think Fields looked good for a possible transfer.

The first series for the Scarlet shows you how hard this offense is gonna be to defend. They marched right down the field and scored. The speed of the offense will add 3-4 more possession a game which will be a disaster for most defense.

The QB's had 2-3 balls dropped for each...when completinf around 70% with the drops thats damn impressive. These guys get all summer and fall to learn the offense and get their mechanics down...damn scary if your an opponent of ours.

The QB's couldn't run, they ran vanilla plays, and the limited the roles of the RB...with that said they moved the ball well.

IMO there is only 1 defense we play that can slow this offense. IMO its MSU...I see this team going 10-2 worst case and 12-0 best case. After watching the Michigan spring game with all their hands on deck I think we curbstomp them in Columbus.

I feel better about the linebackers. Very confident in the DL and secondary...on special teams we need work on punting and we need 2-3 returnmen to step up.

Although..I'll admit it lacks anything resembling sportsmanship..or class for that matter..a curb stomp...and the the faint echos of "What's our Name Bitch?" echoing throughout the beating would probably make me smile...:)...just a little anyway.

Sorry if this was posted someplace (didn't see it anywhere) but the losing team had to walk back, in pads, to the Hayes facility. They came through the parking lot with trooper escorts about 40 minutes after the game ended. Scarlet team must have gotten to take the bus.

I'm watching it for the first time, replaying on BTN. The first thing I noticed, other than the pregame, was how fast the pace on the field was. Very fast compared to what we are used to. The second thing is that the entire field is in the camera. I used to watch games on Saturdays and then switch to an SEC game later and feel like they played on a bigger field than Ohio State. It looks and feels very different than any other year I've seen with tOSU in my life.

I am very excited for this season. The rest of the country are lucky we are getting a bowl ban.
