2012 TSUN shenanigans and arguments

Beav issued about six 50/50 predictions this morning. People actually pay for his info. :slappy:
Who doesn't love this? Oh, you mean the people who aren't paying for his unintentional comedy:
Sunday night: The Rest

Opinions:
Henry: over 50-50
Kozan: 50-50 or slightly over
Grant: 50-50 or slightly over

Diamond: sliiiightly over 50-50

**especially the 'slightly's could, certainly, easily go either way

+++++++++

(and ... BTW)
If they don't get 2 more OLs and have a schollie (or schollies) left ... we hear they might go back on Chris Muller ... that's a maybe, we'll see ... we believe that door has not been slammed.

Semi-realistic analysis (unusual for scum fan):

BlueManFan said:
Thus far since Urban took the job as OSU's coach do I have the commitment list correct?

Hoke:
Darboh - 4 star
Chesson - 3 star

Cryer:
Pittman - 4 star
Schutt - 5 star
Spence - 5 star
Decker - 4 star
O'Conner - 4 star
Perkins - 4 star
Williams - 4 star
Reeves - 4 star

I think I read somewhere that Cryer recruited Washington as well and we know he somehow brain washed Dunn into thinking they will run a power running game while hiring a spread OC and at the same time convincing the current FBs to take a hike for more scholarships... regardless this is pretty freaking scary! I this all coming on a bad season plus "sanctions"... I believe I always heard Tom claim that it is typically the coaches first full recruiting class that gets the BUMP from a new head coach like the one Hoke is putting together this year. If this is the case I am afraid to see what will happen moving forward!

Delusional response (typical for scum fan):

why the negative replies? am i wrong in what I wrote? is this not a fact?
You are the very definition of someone who doesn't understand context.

Did you forget that most of our class was nearly full when Meyer was hired?

Did you forget that we only had 4-6 spots remaining when Meyer was hired?

Did you forget that Ohio's class had a number of questionable players when Meyer was hired?

Did you forget that we turned away Tommy Schutt, SeVon Pittman (who was ready to commit to us), David Perkins, or Carmen Williams? In other words, of the 7 players you listed under Meyer, we turned away 4 of them or stopped recruiting them.

And those aren't the only players we turned away. We also didn't let Ifeadi Odenigbo visit because our coaches were content with our LB haul. We also didn't accept Aaron Burbidge's commitment.

Hilarious to think that scum wouldn't take Schutt, Pittman, Perkins, Williams, Odenigbo, and Burbridge as their final six. I guess that they'd rather have three-star suspects like Sam Grant, Alex Kozan, Chris Muller, and Willie Henry instead.

The meltdown after the above treasure trove of intel:
I'm am an unhappy man right now.

Wow.

I hope we get more than one.
We lose out on the two blue-chippers. But if we closed with all four I'd still be happy.
you'll last long here, wow.

Wonderful! Not directed at u Tom but the percentages have stunk so far for us. Ugh!
I just want diamond. Just please give me diamond

We are absolutely getting smoke here. What gives? We are closing out so poorly. We have lose like 6 or 7 of the past head-head battles when it is us and another school.

Geesh, this is frustrating.
Everyone stop crying.

T-Rich is a good player and last time I checked we beat Ohio and won the Sugar Bowl and have a top 5 class as is.
Once great looking finish turns to complete **** and doom. Welp, recruiting is fluid guys. We just dont have any momentum. And because its fluid, maybe things will change and we get some flipsters. Hopefully RR left some left over snake oil at UM.
College football needs to change. How is that Ohio runs one of the dirtiest programs in the last decade and they are where they are now

Ohio did not even OFFER Reeves until a few weeks ago.
Sounds ominous based on past experience
:slappy:
I agree. As Michigan fans we expect to close on most of the higher ranked prospects, so losing Garnett and Reeves jointly hurts, even if Henry is a diamond in the rough it is hard to get fans to be content in just landing him. Hopefully kozan, diamond and grant are coming or a lot of negative energy is coming.
honestly how the hell does ohio magically find room for these guys. Other teams have been working there a** off to get these guys for months and urban comes blows some smoke up there butt and they realize osu is there dream school
It's all marketing. OSU is the big boy on the block for the past ten years. I thought they'd slip up a bit, but they won't.
Next year...no next year...no the next year...no the one after that.....whatever!
It is outrageous.

I officially add my vote to those who are starting to get f'n cranky.

This was the one I wanted most, as I thought he would fit in well on both sides. Other guys would be great, but I'm getting sick of saying, but there's still...

Btw, Dear Armani, Ohio State is a LOUSY SCHOOL compared to Michigan. In case that wasn't clear to you. But they have a great rewards program that sure takes care of their own, so there's always that. Just don't buck them, or they'll Mo Clarett you.
Meyer is gonna be all over Thomas for the next year like flies on sh!t. I'm officially worried about Thomas sticking.
The facts are the facts. Meyer has won every head-to-head with us so far. I say we quit responding to that with comments about how good our class was before that started happening. Our standard is to beat OSU at everything each day. That includes the recruiting of Dunn and Reeves. Hoke and Mattison need to close on everyone else now. And I sure hope they can win head-to-heads next year for LTT, Gedeon, and Deveon Smith.
Meyer may be 2-0 against us in recruiting battles right now but it is a weak 0-2. There are a lot of coaches OSU could have hired that would have allowed them to keep Dunn. That was not really a fair battle. And we all know about the Reeves situation as well. He definitely deserves some credit for winning these battles but there were other circumstances involved. And Hoke deserves some credit as well for holding onto the currently committed kids.

What will be the true test will be the top midwest non Ohio/Michigan kids next year. If he starts beating us time after time for kids like Issac, Tillman, and Treadwell, then there is definitely cause for concern.
Holy F**K. Some of you are pathetic. WAAAAHHHHHH Urban Meyer is soooooooo scary. Pu$$ys.
People got to remember. If the Sandusky debacle at PSU never happened, Ohio never would have had Spence (big PSU lean), Shutt, Williams, Reeves (who was going to follow Williams whole time). Meyer would not have gotten them all. Sandusky was the worst timing. Combine that, with Meyer coming on board at same time, created a perfect storm for Ohio.

Regarding the 3 schollies they lost, coaches like Meyer will always use "creative accounting" (which includes showing players the door they don't want and don't pan out in future) to get players they want.
I love the frequency of this hypocrisy, given what gave them Kalis.

Can you tell us what changed early afternoon to go from maybe slightly better than 50-50 to maybe slight less than 50-50?

TomBeaver wrote: never said 51%, that's false

and we are just following it for you in real time, more or less -- as things change, we change the odds

Mgoblue1919 wrote:In the little time I've been on GBW... I've never seen this. One day, we see we're slightly leading and 51%... then... BOOM... we lose them!

I honestly need to just quit following the recruiting aspect of this. Just wait until we start practice and hope for updates on the team and the on-field product...
Ouch. Good luck getting an answer to that one, if you're even allowed to post any longer.

Try this: here's what I was trying to say

They lost the two guys they had the lowest shot at, Garnett and Reeves - both were under 50-50 at the time they picked

The have better shots at the remaining 3 (or 4), IMO

of the remaining 3

I won't be surprised at Kozan not matter what he does

I'll be a little surprised if they lose Grant and Diamond

Reading the twitterz... so much fun right now.

To a man, ever scUM fan is saying that it's, "the end of a shitty day for M*ch*g*n fans."

It's after midnight in this time zone. It's actually the start of another shitty day for M*ch*g*n fans.

Garnett - Stanford
Basketball - beaten so thoroughly for so long that they think they've lost to the Bobcats instead
Reeves - THE Ohio State University!
Kozan - Iowa
