I don't know a whole lot of folks who expect Michigan to win in The Shoe in two weeks...

I highly doubt they are going to give the B1G two BCS bowl games. Wisconsin is currently favored to beat us. So either Nebraska or Wisconsin play the Rose Bowl, and how else would they get Michigan in the "premeire" non BCS bowl?

Michigan is projected to play Georgia right now in the Capital One Bowl. That's what I saw the other day.
Clark has dodged the crowbar hotel for the time being, soooooo.....the scUM is ready to play in the Felony Bowl against USC now that Simione Vehikite is out of the slammer.

LOL....Harvard of the west:scum4:

On 60 minutes they just asked Brady how much he ate before the Alabama game! :slappy::slappy:

I was so excited to hear the answer but he said he ate nothing. Right Brady we all know that didn't happen.

Did they happen to ask why Hoke thinks it is OK to start a convicted felon on his football team?

Here we go, Beav begins the spinning:

IMO Denard got hurt again on the elbow on that 4rd down play in the 3rd quarter ... and/or on the fumble shortly after

FWIW
So, he deployed his oft used "I have an owee" excuse to not have to go back into a big game when things got tough?

Reality sets in:

The season ended about as it should. The toss up games on the schedule were ND, Nebrasksa, MSU, OSU, and it turns out, Northwestern. Michigan won the ones at home and lost the ones on the road. And even though we always wanted to believe we could be better, the reality is that talent wise, this is who we are.

The calls for Borges' (which, in my IMO was a bizarre hire from the start) head are going be both numerous and loud...
I don't agree. I do agree with the assessment on talent, but this is a game we could have won and I do not understand the second-half offensive strategy.
Even if this is true it still doesn't excuse the second half play calling during this game IMO. Furthermore, there are progams with coaches that don't and can't afford to use talent as an excuse. Bill Snyder at K-State comes to mind. His teams are loaded with walk-on and two-star players. He can't get the elite talent to go to his school, so he has to coach and lead his team against superior talant almost every game. He's sitting at 11-1. I give Hoke and crew a lot of credit for what they have acomplished this far at Michigan. But defending Al is growing long in the tooth-especially after a game like this.
Some of the bloom is off the Hoke rose:
Nonsense. Hoke lost this game. Squib kick at end of first half=3 pts. Running it up the middle on 4th and 3 from your own 48=3 pts. How much did we lose by?

Stop disrespecting our kids with this "we are what we are" crap.
SWFLGoBlue, you just became my favorite poster. I've been saying this for years now. It's like I keep saying, the '97 team couldn't have overcome the second half coaching stupidity exhibited today. This isn't the kid's fault

A thread dedicated to their lousy OL play. The hilarity here is, that they're gonna lose most of them this season (including an AA LT in Lewan), so they're looking at a near ground-up rebuild next fall...

They were horrible.

I don't know if it is talent or coaching, but on paper, at the start of the season, our O-line looked a lot better than OSU's. They owned us today. They won the game in the trenches. It wasn't even close.

We definitely suck at run blocking.
Not just run blocking, Gardner was hassled pretty much all day. Run blocking isn't the only problem when your RB stable is led by a 5'6 170 lb glorified slot dot.

please be aware this was minus John Simon the best defensive lineman for OSU
Depth helps in these situations.

The good news is the Oline HAS to better next season, if only because it really can't be worse. My guess is we'll replace at least 4, if not all 5 starters. May struggle early on by next November you'll see some physical play out of them, which is more than we saw this year. I've been a fan since 1970 and that is the absolute worst o-line I've seen throughout an entire season. Bring in the young guys and let's start the player development.
Yes, because replacing 4 starters (most, multi-year starters, and 1 possible All-American and 1st round pick) usually leads to improvement.

play calling was awful period. Why so creative against Iowa using both players at the same time. None of that in second half. Very unhappy with offensive coaching in the biggest game of the year.
The 2nd half playcalling was ponderous. But your hands get kind of tied when you have 3-4 guys in your backfield almost every play.

DickRod strike again...

Let's blame Rich...
For not recruiting Hankins.
Actually, Hank held a scUM offer.

Another smack of reality...

Do y'all really think this staff and this university will ever compete for NC's? We will be a 8-4 and 9-3 team all the time and every now and then we will get to 11 wins and be "in the picture". I questioned this hire at first and then thought with Mattison we'd be ok but this offensive staff is so pathetic we will always lose to better teams and one or more teams we shouldn't have. We will keep this same stale azz o staff for years. Did y'all honestly feel this staff was goin to be elite? This staff fits the dry mold...have good morals, graduate and lastly play football.
Agree we will consistently be 8-4, 9-3. Seems UM has been traditionally content with that. What have we seen that would lead us to believe it will be any different with this staff?
I'll be interested to see what Brady learns from this season. If he is still walking around in short sleeves without a headset on down by 7 in East Landfill next year I'll have my answer!
Maybe once in a decade. Hoke is Carr all over again. The game has changed and we are still stuck in the past mode
Nothing brother and that's the problem. I love this program so much and I'm not even from Michigan. I'm so pissed off right now but I'm not even sure why...Dominos and Hoke will mow this off as a few bad, weeeellll, breaks. Maybe someday I can finally get my mind around accepting average. Gosh, I hate this consistent feeling
This is Lloyd-Carr like Michigan again. Yeah, we'll get to a bowl game every year but won't challenge for NC's. Not with coaches like Borges and Ferrigno and Fred Jackson on staff.
Although we have great defensive coaches, we have terrible offensive coaches and a head coach who doesnt coach. So right now, I have no faith we can win the B1G or a national title with this staff.
LOL @ "elite level" recruiting. You must not follow recruiting. Offensive prospects see the same thing we see. We've gone 3 recruiting classes without any elite skill position recruits not named Morris or Funchess.

The doubt about Hoke's ability to get them to an elite level is growing. Imagine next year when he has to navigate a major rebuild. Especially with little help coming in on the WR front, and their best WR likely lining up under center, a mediocre RB stable, and a lot to replace on defense. 8-4 next year might be a challenge.

Also, as much as we like to dog hairlice, he is the only threat they have on offense that opposing DCs have to consistently game plan for. They won't have him to bail them out with 70 yard runs in big games anymore, and they don't have anybody to replace that. Gardner is a step forward as a passer, but he'll be lining up behind a rebuilt line, with little to work with besides Funchess. Who knows where they go at RB. Even if Fitz comes back 100%, he was very underwhelming this year behind a veteran line and with an equal running threat at QB.

If Borges is back next year, they might suffer mass aneurysms.
