Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas made the 1st Team All-Tournament team, with Aaron taking home the most outstanding player award.

Way to go, Bucks. Another piece of hardware for the trophy case and another year to add to the banner. Now let's go get another piece for that trophy case...

Despite his being a dick, those interviews -- both in basketball and football -- are a total fucking waste of time. The networks put some fucking bimbos who ask mindless canned, generic, cliche' type questions and expect coaches to give rational, insightful answers.

Without them we never would have gotten the John L Smith halftime interview. 99% are worthless, but that 1% is fantastic.

Let's face it, basically it is the "unofficial" network equivalent of Title IX, unfortunately it is "politically correct" to have female (i.e. bimbo) commentators and give them TV time. It just doesn't work to put a bimbo "in the booth" for game play by play or color commentary so this is what the networks came up with. All the networks do it.

Gotta admit, I really do miss Lloyd Carr's incredulous "You must be kidding me, that's the dumbest [censored]ing question I have ever heard" halftime smirk.

John L. Smith and Jack Arute after the blocked field goal. Better.

I do think CBS Sports said it was trending away from using sideline reporters a couple years ago. They might've changed that strategy.

CHICAGO — It wasn’t pretty.

But then again, the third game in as many days in a basketball conference like the Big Ten rarely is.

“I thought both teams were exhausted,” Ohio State coach Thad Matta said. “We were challenging our guys every timeout, ‘You’ve got one more gear. You’ve got one more gear.’ ”

The Buckeyes finally found it yesterday, against a Wisconsin team determined to idle them, and the up-shift to a higher pace carried them to a 50-43 victory in the Big Ten tournament championship game in the United Center.

“I thought we had a chance to run the gantlet but just didn’t have quite enough in us,” Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan said after the Buckeyes, the tournament’s No. 3 seed, outscored the Badgers 9-2 the final 51/2 minutes.

Wisconsin, the No. 4 seed, had upset top-seeded Indiana in a semifinal on Saturday.

It was the Buckeyes’ third tournament title in four years and fourth in the past eight under Matta. They have reached the tournament final seven of those eight seasons.

“As I told the team afterward, I don’t know if I’ve ever been prouder of a basketball team,” Matta said.

The Buckeyes (26-7) were in fifth place in the Big Ten a month ago after a 22-point loss at Wisconsin. They have won eight straight games since. Their comeback from a nine-point deficit with an 8-0 run to close the first half yesterday reflected a developing maturity.

“I can’t say that, a few weeks ago, we could have responded the same way that we did (yesterday),” said guard Aaron Craft, who was voted the tournament’s most outstanding player.

Deshaun Thomas led all scorers with 17 points, but it was a series of plays off the bench by LaQuinton Ross that finally enabled the Buckeyes to gain separation in a second half in which the teams were within two points of each other for the first 151/2 minutes.

While I agree with you about the interviews, those announcers are only doing their job and there is no need for a coach to be rude to them especially when it was the announcers birthday:biggrin2:

However, the announcer did graduate from TSUN so...
