2014-15 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

So any predictions for the selection show tonight? I am going to guess a #10 seed, their resume is weaker in terms of top-50 wins than just about any other at-large in the field, and whenever OSU has had a team that should be in the 5-9 seed range it always seems like they are a little bit lower seed than I expected. I saw one analyst had OSU in the "last 4 in" with their field projection.
The delusional side of me started wondering if facing a 2-seed would be better. Then I realized the main reason I liked that was because it avoided a loss in the play-in game (8/9)

VCU lost in the first round last year to the Six Million Dollar man, aka Stephen F. Austin. They also played 4 games in 4 days en route to winning the A10 tournament today while the Bucks were resting. Yeah, "resting" sounds better than licking their wounds.

I like our chances against VCU. Second round against Arizona isn't going to be easy, but I think we could make it to the Sweet 16. Past that is a pipe dream.

I think anything beyond a win over VCU is a pipe dream. Beating Arizona would be a pleasant surprise, to say the least.

Personally I feel VCU is a very beatable team, but you have to have the right mindset. They want to force you to turn the ball over and so you have to attack when you beat the press. Their starting big man is 6'6" 255#, and while he is very strong and athletic it's not like they are especially hard to match up inside which is helpful considering that is where OSU's problems have been. Arizona on the other hand, would take a Herculean effort out of this team, one which they have not shown yet.

The Buckeyes haven't shown any ability whatsoever to beat a good team at neutral site. We match up well with VCU but that hasn't stopped us from losing games we shouldn't. Then there's the potential ass beating waiting for us should we get to face Arizona.
