2014 Masters at Augusta

Glad for Bubba but I definitely wanted to see the Spieth-Watson pairing be more competitive on the back 9. Or someone else...Bubba got ahead and never looked back.
I agree wholeheartedly. It was not a very compelling back nine on Sunday at the Masters (he says in his best Jim Nantz voice). No.s 8 and then 9 just took the wind out of Spieth and 12 just flat out crushed him even with saving bogey.

Tiger won tournaments that way for years and for some reason most people seemed to love it.

I think it just seems that way in retrospect, because I sort of thought the same thing, but he really only had one blowout among his four Masters, and fans loved that one (1997) because he did it in such unprecedented and dominant fashion. He won by 2 in 2001, but Duval made a big run on Sunday to make it exciting; then by 3 in 2002 after, sure, a ho-hum Sunday; then in a playoff in 2005. When Tiger won big in majors, it was exciting because he was setting scoring/margin records, or he pulled away from close 54-hole races with characteristically epic Sunday performances. But he did win 3 majors in playoffs, 4 more by 1 or 2. And every win brought him closer to Jack.

This year's Masters really didn't feature the big scores that excite audiences, and Bubba was at the top the whole time before easing into the win. It's not Bubba's fault by any means, but it made for a pretty boring Sunday on TV.

Precisely. And the lack of big shots was a bit of a disappointment...the only shot that really got me up on my feet was the 40+ footer from Fowler with the crazy break. Heading into Sunday, I could not have been more excited to see all of Spieth, Bubba, and Fowler in contention...instead, Fowler choked (which is becoming characteristic unfortunately) and Spieth was visibly shook after Hole 8. Looking forward though, I think Spieth is going to be a VERY good one.

I dont see Bubba winning other Majors..but he is built for Augusta and would no be surprised if he gets More green jackets.

I could see him winning a PGA or two just because at some point it might line up with his skill set. But a US Open and a British Open title would be a big achievement for him since those both tend to penalize people who can go off the beaten path at times.

Agree on the PGA, and possibly a US Open. I would be shocked to see him win the Open with his high ball flight.

He certainly has the game for Augusta and the stars definitely aligned for him this year with a lot of big names not making the cut and none of the young guns really stepping up.
