2014 Ohio State Pro Day

Keep in mind that like USC, OSU has outlandish standards for great LBs. Shazier was quite good and could have been even better on a better defense. He just comes after a near decade of superb LB play with multiple legends and other very good ones (like my avatar/hero Brian Rolle). They had nearly a decade straight of superb play

02-03 Reynolds, Wilhelm/Pagac, Grant/Hawk
04-05 Carpenter, Schlegel, Hawk
06-08 Grant/Kerr, Laurinaitis, Freeman
09-10 Sweat, Rolle, Homan

I wanted to ask what you guys thought How much better Shazier could be with a dline staying on blocks and he was more free but I will be honest, I was scared to since I'm new and didn't want anyone to take it as cutting your defense down.
Civil criticisms are fair game. The DL was actually the only good part of the DL but they attacked and left the already weak 2nd level out to dry.Especially because he rips into lousy technique when these kids go for kill shots instead of "hit what you see, see what you hit. Two steps, squeeze, bring your feet."
Thank you, I will remember that in the future. I knew I should have asked in the beginning but...

From the games I saw your dline was very good. The secondary not so much. So I "assumed" the dline didn't have confidence in giving the QB too much time and they over attacked-overran sometimes but you could see why, in an ignorant-seen-maybe-6-games-view, if you will.

Thank you for the compliment about the LB's. I think we have the best one year LB corp in CFB history (2005) and a few more here and there. I have to say tOSU is better year to year and historically than we are. It seems every few years you guys have someone come through and it never stops. James and AJ were so fun to watch. Just amazing. We are more the RB and WR but to be said to be on par with tOSU in the LB is a huge compliment so thank you.

Yes, you can tell it makes him so mad when he's announcing a game and the kids go for the highlight reel instead of the tackle. I love that man so much. One of my favorite lifetime people, let alone players.
