Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

So I'm stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. This whole god damn state is nothing but bandwaggoners and Mariota (Hawaii born and raised) nut-huggers. There were more "Oregon fans" in Buffalo Wild Wings today than Ohio State, Florida State, and Alabama combined. I already can't stand that stupid school with their stupid mascot and their stupid uniforms. Then to watch all these people act like assholes as they blew out FSU made me dislike them even more. Sorest, most in-your-face winners I've ever been around.

I don't even know where I'm going with this other than to say fuck these guys and GO BUCKS!!!

:oh:

Glad we beat 'Bama, but now we HAVE to win this one. Would have been the case regardless of who we played.

Couldn't give FSU their 2nd consecutive championship.
Can't give Oregon their 1st national championship ever.

Gotta be difficult for both teams to turn around after huge emotional games today and do it again in 10 days.
Our game was extremely physical and I imagine players are pretty beat up and spent - body and soul.
On the other hand Oregon got to rest at the end - but they'll also be hearing all week about how they should demolish us and might buy it given what they did to FSU.

Gotta think the staff that keeps their team focused has the edge.
A lot of the fundamental offensive principles are the same, so I'm not sure coaching prep is as much of a factor. Both sides have an idea of what they'll be up against and both defenses will have experience practicing against the 1s. It'll be about who executes their flavor better. Honestly, I like our D in this one -- will still be high scoring but I think our athletic D will still be up for it. Just hope everyone stays healthy and a great game.

I know one thing that will be different: Just like they said during the game, FSU quit. They. Gave. Up.

That won't happen in the next game. Probably because the next team Oregon is playing actually has character--something we already knew was in seriously short supply in Tallahassee.

FSU as a whole is just a sad child in need of a spanking. I'm glad it finally came and I'm glad it they picked wrench.

I don't even care what this means. I'm agreeing with it. ;D

In terms of perspective about the next game, I don't make predictions, but I do like to try to keep a balanced view: This is the same Oregon team that lost to Arizona.

Arizona.

They lost to RichRod's team.

They are nowhere near invincible.

My biggest concern about this game:

We know the key to beating Oregon is to win the time of possession battle by a large margin.

I'm worried our offense is too potent to be able to stay on the field long.
