2017 CFB Bowl Games Open Thread

Sparty in command now. Trying to come back from 18 down in the second half against them is difficult, especially when they're grinding it out on offense.

Say what you will, at least the walrus knows how to hand the ball off to the star running back.

Cost us a CFP spot and possible repeat NC in 2015. Zeke only getting 12 carries in that game - one in the 4th quarter despite never trailing until the final play - is something I'll never understand. Urban and staff were terribly outcoached on that day, leading to MSU being overpowered in the CFP. Shame on us.

Every halftime show of every bowl game on ESPN is about the CFP. Maybe I'm annoyed we didn't make it, but even if we did how many times do I need to hear them break down the same two games? How about discussing the game that's actually on now? :roll1:
But no the other bowl games totally aren't pointless....

So WSU who beat USC is getting stomped against a team we routes. So yeah maybe we get treated to one more plunger game this year?

Did all of these bowls games matter more before the four-team CFP? Really? If so, how/why? They are what they are, and what they've always been - that hasn't changed. Most of them were irrelevant to the "national champion" for decades, just as they are now.

The difference now is we've become so focused on "NC or bust" nothing else matters to a lot of people. That's a great way to be disappointed most years, even when you support a team that wins about 90% of their games.

I think Sparty being snubbed by the outback bowl really ticked them off... this is about as good as I've seen Sparty this year.

Big ten looking damned strong so far
Yep. So much more physical than Wazzu. Remember back in 2014 when Wisconsin beat Auburn and Meyer said that gave him an extra boost going into the semi-final against Alabama? I think Sparty's beatdown of Wazzu can show the Bucks just how badly they can stomp USC...
