2018 Week 4 CFB Open Thread

I've been around too long to ever think it'll be smooth sailing in Crappy Valley.

But I do think we'll have a chance to knock the crap out of McSorley. They're relying on his legs a lot more this season.
Handled them pretty handily with Boeckman and then again with Braxton. So it's been done before but no doubt early itll be rocking there.

Just have to get up 14-0 and it could go south quick. This offense is no where near as dangerous as past seasons. Way too much reliance on the zone read and as long as our defense doesnt give up the large chunk plays (big if) this offense is built for our defense.

As i said sometime earlier this week.. they're running Trace up the middle a ton the first 4 weeks.

I like that theory, but they're a different program under Franklin than they were in those days. He managed to compete at Vanderbilt so I figured he'd do well there. I do like our offense under Haskins, though.

Meanwhile, Illinois just scored another TD.

No no... this defense is not their usual outfit especially up front (Franklin said he was concerned).

Illinois with no throwing threat is SHREDDING this team and that's with half as good an offensive line and not as dangerous of backs.

PEDs Offense isn't as dangerous out wide and they aren't even in the same stratosphere with their front 7. Potential is there for a lopsided win IMO.

I've called them a paper tiger all year so far. They tend to pile on late to make scores look bad.

Bottom line is App State took them to OT and had the lead with 40 seconds left, Pitt ran for 200+ yards and had a lead late in the 2nd before falling apart and Kent State was at 28-10 at the half.

So playing shit for competition so far and they've struggled IMO quite a bit.
