2019 Week 13 CFB Open Thread

Only problem with Oregon going down again is it gives 1 loss Bama a better chance to sneak in.

Joey Galloway has absolutely lost his mind. Has 1) LSU, 2) Clemson, and 3) Ohio State because...why now?

“Ohio State struggled”......probably played the sloppiest offensive game of the year and still beat a P5 team that will finish the regular season 10-2 by 11

LSU survived a mediocre at best Texas team but you’ll here none of that “THEY WERE RANKED AT THE TIME!!!”

WATCH: Youngstown State QB carried onto field for final snap

A Youngstown State football player who suffered a season-ending injury earlier this season had a heartwarming moment on senior day.

Quarterback Nathan Mays broke his ankle in a Nov. 2 loss to North Dakota State, ending his senior season -- for the time being.

On the final play of Youngstown State’s 21-3 win over No. 6 FCS Illinois State, Mays’ teammates carried him onto the field for the final snap. Mays was in full uniform.

t was the talk of the upset win for the Penguins, which improved to 6-6 with the victory.

In four seasons at Youngstown State, Mays completed just north of 61.3 percent of his passes for 2,169 yards and threw 20 touchdowns to seven interceptions. He started every game this season before his injury,

“I feel for him,” Youngstown State head coach Bo Pelini said regarding Mays’ injury. “He’s a great competitor and it’s too bad. No one wants to end their career like that; that’s a tough one to swallow.”

“I had it planned, a lot of people thought I was just joking around,” Mays said. “I said if we were up multiple scores at halftime I was going to bring the pads out. Once it got closer and closer, it was just kind of flying by, and I didn’t know if I had the guts to ask if I could finally do it, and when I went up to Bo [Pelini], Bo was all about it...It didn’t hit me until I actually did it, and then I saw my dad in tears...It was pretty special.”

One interesting thing I saw this weekend. Arizona State, protecting a 1-score lead, got a first down against Oregon, who had 1 timeout left, with the clock running and 1:45 left in the game. They then hiked the ball twice and handed it off to an RB who was tackled; before finally taking a knee on third down.

Who should know better than Herm Edwards that you can take a knee 3 times and run out that clock? He's the guy that scooped and scored in the Miracle of the Meadowlands in 1978 when NY Giants Joe Pisarcik and Larry Csonka fumbled a handoff. After that, teams decided it was smart, rather than wimpy, to take a knee. Herm is making $2 million a year to risk blowing a big upset when he's the poster child for why you should take a knee whenever you can get the clock to zero by doing it.

Do not underestimate Sparky's ability to blow a late lead in galactically stupid ways. It's in their DNA, and Marvin Lewis is on the staff.
