2019 Week 7 CFB Open Thread

I guess the best outcome today would be for OU to win, handing Texas their second loss and knocking them out of the playoff. Then we'd want Texas to win the rematch in the CCG so, even if that's OU's only loss, the lack of a conference championship would hurt their chances for making the playoff. Of course, that could open the door for a one loss Notre Dame (Fight On!).

Ideally the Bucks will run the table and none of that will matter. Just thinking out loud.
Not far fetched idea though... Texas is missing a lot on defense and maybe if they get healthy they stun OU in a rematch.

So I just turned on the Michigan game to see they hadn't thrown a pass yet, already up 7-0. I then watch them run down the field 10 yards a pop but still have to settle for a (apparently missed) FG (I turned it off to come post here).

In that drive they threw 3 passes. Two to TEs and a screen to the RB. They completed one of those. It was not the screen. They are so hilariously bad at passing. Maybe they should hire some kind of QB whisperer.
They'll still score 40+ because of Illinois' spectacular ineptitude and see it as "progress."

The screen pass was hysterically bad.

Good news for Scum fans is that Patterson can at least hit passes when the defense forgets to cover a guy.

Lovie Smith, dead man walking.
It's too bad he hasn't had success at making Illinois respectable. That would've been a good story. I thought maybe the name alone would open some doors in recruiting. (I can't imagine the big grey beard helps, though.) I don't know what their facilities are like. I don't recall hearing about any big recent expansion. That's just such a horribly mismanaged athletic dept. they have in Champaign. It's sad.

Given how their fanbase handled their last small dose of success (12 years ago ), it's probably for the best.

I'm sorry but this OU offense is not even close to as good as it normally is.

This offense goes because Hurts takes off for 10 literally every effin play. They don't have a running back that scares me and Okudah would lock down Lamb.

It would literally be stop Hurts from running and that'd be all we'd need.
