2022/23 Bowl Game Discussion Thread

Harry Miller was the guy that quit football to get mental help due to thoughts if suicide and went on a quite a few shows with and without Day and talked about how he felt he could go to Day cause mental health was a focus and because he lost his Dad.
.

in that case i have a ton more respect for Day.

a friend of mine in High School committed Suicide.

and since my heart issues, i’ve dealt with my own demons (mostly unhealthy amounts of alcohol, not suicide).
Mental Health is not a joke.

and unfortunately not enough people have the strength to ask for help.

Harry's story about what he dealt with ( and still does) and how Coach Day helped him begins on page 25 of his thread under "Buckeye Alumni" ( After several pages of the usual bitching about the team being relatively tight lipped about what was going with him ) Harry is a courageous young man for going public with his issues, and learning what Coach Day has done for him and the emphasis he places on mental health issues, it reminds me that there really are more important things in this world than football.

Another issue could be day/time. I'm more likely to stay up and watch a game I'm not too invested in on a Saturday night than on a Monday night.

This is a great point. No way am I staying up for 2 teams I don't give a shit about when I have to be at work in the AM.

Funny note, the Army generally gives the Monday after the Super Bowl as a day off. That wasn't always the case but then Milley took over and he is a rabid Patriots fan.

My unit gave us a late work call for the Tuesday after the Natty this year...that late call was 9 am which is the normal time everyone shows up to work as we are not your typical Army unit where we have formations and PT at 6:30 am. More reason to move that shit to Saturday night.
