The main concern I have with him is the QB run. I just assume teams will get at least one arm punt a game so I don't have a stroke. But I expect McCarthy will be used heavily in the read game along sweeps, QB power and the inevitable PA pass off of those. Looking for Chambers to spy him on passing downs.

From what i've seen McCarthy is not very good at the designed runs and zone reads when they've called them for him. He's very hesitant with the read and often makes the wrong one.

He becomes dangerous on broken pass plays, he can scramble for big chunk yardage then. Gotta be careful to not over pursue when going after him.

Agreed. Make him throw

Attorney: Michigan-Michigan State postgame tunnel incident instigated by Wolverines

An attorney representing a suspended Michigan State player involved in the fight in the tunnel at Michigan Stadium following the Wolverines’ victory over the Spartans on Oct. 29 is saying Michigan State players were responding to the actions of a Michigan player.

David Diamond, a lawyer based in Los Angeles, released a statement saying, “We have learned that the UM player started the altercation. Eyewitnesses have described it as charging with his helmet and throwing a punch.”

Reached by The News, Diamond, who is not revealing at this time which player he is representing, said the point of his statement was to push back against the narrative that Michigan’s players are innocent in the altercation and all of the blame lies with the Michigan State players.

“It is imperative that this is an objective and fair investigation, which I believe it will be based on my communications with the lead investigator on the case,” Diamond told The News. “The reality of the situation forces us to determine why the Michigan players were in the tunnel at that time, what they did to instigate the event and whether the response by the Michigan State players was in self-defense or proportionate to the threat they felt from the Michigan players.”

Seven Michigan St. football players charged in tunnel melee

Seven Michigan State football players are being charged with crimes stemming from the assault on two Wolverines players in Michigan Stadium's tunnel after the two teams played on Oct. 29, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office announced Wednesday.

Defensive back Khary Crump is being charged with felonious assault after video was released showing Crump striking Michigan defensive back Gemon Green with his helmet. Defensive end Jacoby Windmon was also shown in the video and is charged with one count of assault and battery.

Itayvion Brown, Angelo Grose, Justin White, Brandon Wright and Zion Young are all being charged with aggravated assault. Video showed a mass of players surrounding Michigan defensive back Ja'Den McBurrows, hitting and kicking him while he was on the ground.

Well, let's make sure Day doesn't allow that to happen next year since tsun has shown their hand and we know what their response will be: publicly scream out their victimhood while pressuring a compliant university police department to file felony charges against the visiting team.
How about not swinging your helmet at somebody. It’s called accountability. On no, they called me mean words so I need to lose my cool and assault somebody. If you are mentally weak, then you will get exposed especially when somebody finds out about it. MSU has nobody to blame but themselves.

While, I don’t disagree with accountability for the MSU players, it will be interesting to see what happens to the parents of the instigators that attacked the MSU team. You don’t hear chirpy calling them out now do you?

Fuck Xichigan

Agreed but now apply that to Howard because minus the helmet swing there is no difference.

Not sure I agree Sockpuppet. The guy swinging the helmet , yes . The others indicted ? Not sure . Keep in mind the district attorney is a season ticket holder for U of M. There have been multiple tunnel incidents with osu, psu, msu , and Illinois all within this calendar year . I keep hearing from u of m that we have been doing a single tunnel for over 100 years and no problem … that is great … I am sure people didn’t lock their door a back then either .. times do change !

to hear the old timers tell it, the tunnel has ALWAYS been a problem... i'm thinking back to this week's buckeye roundtable where lachey and archie were reminiscing about their experiences with the game.

i think the difference nowadays, and in this case specifically, was that the incident was recorded on film.

I think the current issue also reflects the team’s general attitude of talking shit constantly and instigating confrontations and then crying like a bitch when the other team retaliates.

This is a huge part of ttun’s current collective persona, and I don’t think it was as much a part of their identity at various points in their history.

I agree with that part. Michigan should just let it go. Unless somebody suffered a serious injury, then don't make it a big deal. I don't think any of the Michigan players suffered anything serious. I mean if a player got his head cracked by a helmet, then let's talk. MSU still has nobody to blame but themsevles. We now live in a society that most people don't want to be accountable for anything. You can't assault people because you lost or people are talking shit. It's MSU and Michigan. There is going to be shit talking on both sides. Later today, we play our rival Oregon State for the battle of the state. We don't like them and they don't like us. There will be shit talking on both sides. It's really not a big deal.
