Getting shut out of the playoffs for 2-3 years will absolutely devastate them. From now on, there will be around 20 teams a year with a legit chance at the playoffs. If you have zero chance, you're pretty much done in both recruiting and the portal.

You are being awfully kind to them to so specifically choose 5 consecutive 5-loss seasons.

Yes, that is unprecedented for them

But from 2008 through 2014, their losses were thus:

2008 - 9
2009 - 7
2010 - 6
2011 - 2
2012 - 5
2013 - 6
2014 - 7

So... A 3 season, 5 loss streak (2 losses) Another 3 season, 5 loss streak

2017 was a 5 loss season
2019 was a 4 loss season
In 2020 they were staring down the barrel of a 5-loss season, but pussied out to go 2-4 because no one called it what it was... a forfeit.

From 2008 through 2020 they averaged 4.92 losses per season. If you call the forfeit of 2020 what it was, then for that span they averaged EXACTLY 5 losses per season.

Let's face it: 5 consecutive 5-loss seasons might be unprecedented for them, but 5-losses was damn near their identity before they started cheating
