We advance every half week (unless everyone is done early)... from the looks of things I'm guessing we'll have two leagues with 6-7 users each. I'd prefer 3 four team conferences, but that leaves us crippled if/when people back out.
It's not that serious in terms of required skill level, we just ask that everyone get their stuff done in the 3 day window. If you are generally reliable and have something come up, we'll accomodate you, but we like to keep things moving, so regularly late folks probably won't be around for long.

That's a pain in the buns
I'm in. I work daily 8-5, but will have most evenings free to play.
I like the sound of 3 super conferences of 4 users each or even 4 conferences of 3 teams each, although we would need more definite answers from people due to it possibly collapsing. I feel like 6-7 users in each conference (2) may be a little tough for users to get to play in December. I didn't play in the 2010 league, so I don't know what the competition is like (everyone's skill level).
I'm also up for just picking teams and going with whatever, just make the schedule a certain letter grade, if they still do that. I really like playing with non-BCS teams especially if you can be invited into a BCS conference.

Sounds good 24. We'll have plenty of time to figure out the finer details after the demo comes out.
To avoid collapse, I think we should structure it with 3 committed users per conference, guys who are in it for many months. It's not a big deal if we drop from 4 to 3, but down to 2 is a problem.
The guys listed below have stuck around for the long haul. BMac is reliable until he picks up Fifa. I'm coming to steal that disc if it happens again.
1 - Osustamm, Fothdog & 8547 should be one, they're buddies offlien
2 - Merih, Me & ______ would be another.
3 - eobuck, ____ & _____ would be the third. BMac could slide in here.

I think CentralMo would probably be one of the non-trio guys, unless his schedule changes.
