I'm not rooting for the Yankees plane to crash because the White Sox haven't won 27 World Series'.....it's because the assholes who root for the Yankees deserve something horrible to happen to them. If a plane was big enough to carry every Yankee fan, I'd wish for that plane to go down. As it is, it's easier to hope the Yankees lose every game they play.

Epic win.

This sums it all up.

...so in his mind, if you're hated, you're good. so what does he do? act like an annoying little shit to piss off as many people as possible in the context of ND. then, when people give him shit about ND because they hate him, he thinks they hate him because he likes ND and ND must be awesome.

Fair enough...

...but I defend my Buckeyes the same way elsewhere. I think that there IS truth to the hatred that many people have toward elite programs. Fueled by jealousy and futility the only thing some people have to grasp at is the straws of denigrating a program's fanbase.

You have to be aware that much of the country hates Ohio State for the very same reasons they hate Duke, the Yankees, etc...

I know just as many obnoxious Duke fans as I do obnoxious Buckeye fans, I don't lump myself in with the elitist, ignorant bastards that make up much of both of those camps.

But even if I did, I'd relish in the hatred not because it means "my" program is good, but because I know there's nothing truly relevant to add to the conversation.

At this point in the tournament with everything that's already transpired, it's pretty useless to make some sort of crack at the bracket strength. Not one of the top 4 remaining teams in the tournament have had any more or less difficult of a road than the other.

Ohio State's road:
Georgia Tech - Tennessee - Northern Iowa/Michigan State

Syracuse's road:
Gonzaga - Butler - Kansas State/Xavier

Kentucky's road:
Wake Forrest - Cornell - Washington/West Virginia

Duke's road:
California - Purdue - Baylor/St. Mary's

Not a huge discrepancy there if you ask me.

I excluded Ohio STate because they are a 2 seed. But what are you smoking if you don't see a HUGE discrepancy between what Duke will face compared to what Kentucky and Syracuse will face.

Hell if Purdue didn't lose Hummel chances are THEY would be the 1 seed. Instead Duke will play the watered down version.

...Cornell and Butler are that much better than Purdue? You said it yourself, they'd be a #1 seed if it wasn't for Hummel being out.

...Kansas State is better than Baylor, but only 9 points better...and both teams are far better than a sans PG West Virginia.

...Xavier is the best of the "underdogs", but St Mary's and Washington is a tossup at VERY best...St. Mary's is the better team there...they've already knocked off a team (albeit a crippled one) that many thought would be in the Final Four.

I'm one of the seemingly few people that doesn't have a problem with Duke and I have no argument with the fact that each of the #1 seeds has a similar course right now.

But I would still argue that the draw Duke got at the beginning of the tourney was much better than that of Kansas or Kentucky.

I totally agree. At the outset of the tourney, the "worst case scenario" for all four #1's was definitely in favor of Duke. Now, however...not so much.
