The 2019 star is considered the No. 2 player in North Carolina.
As we hit the midweek, we are slowly (but surely) getting to another Saturday where the Ohio State Buckeyes will take the field. This week, the Buckeyes are on the road for a primetime meeting with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
While the fellas from Lincoln, NE are the focus on the gridiron, recruiting is a focus that virtually never ends. Luckily for Urban Meyer, his program sells itself—that’s what happens when you’re a national (and dominant) brand.
On Tuesday, the Scarlet and Gray got some good news on their recruiting efforts.
And then there were 10
Savion Jackson (Clayton, NC/Clayton) was the bearer of good news for the Buckeyes on Tuesday evening. On Twitter, the four-star defensive end from North Carolina released his top 10 list.
Ohio State joins a packed room with the last two national champions, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers, respectively; home state programs North Carolina Tar Heels and NC State Wolfpack; SEC programs South Carolina and Tennessee; and Louisville and Penn State.
Before trimming his list down to 10, Jackson received 16 offers, according to his 247sports profile. A few of the teams that missed the cut: Florida, Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh.
Jackson comes in at 6'3, 245 pounds, and is the 50th-best player in his class, according to 247sports. Additionally, the 247sports composite ranks Jackson as the No. 5 player for 2019 at the strong-side defensive end position and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina. However, 247sports’ own ranking has Jackson as the No. 1 player in the Tar Heel State, with Quavaris Crouch as the No. 2 player. (In the composite rankings, Crouch is No. 1 in the state.)

According to the Hudl page, Jackson has a 40-yard dash time of 4.7 seconds, a shuttle time of 4.3 seconds, and can squat 425 pounds.
There is still a lot of time left in the recruitment of Jackson, and if anything changes, we’ll let you know.
A clash with Clemson...but on the hardwood?
Pivoting to basketball, Chris Holtmann is in the lookout for another recruit to add to the Buckeyes. Yesterday, the new man in charge of the Scarlet and Gray honed in on four-star point guard Courtney Ramey, according to a tweet by Rivals.com basketball analyst Corey Evans.

Rivals has the St. Louis, MO native as the 39th-best prospect in the 2018 class. At 247sports, Ramey comes in as the 46th-best prospect—but the overall 247sports composite has him at 37th. So, the feelings are pretty similar: Ramey can ball.
As noted in the tweet, David Padgett—the new guy in charge of Louisville basketball—and a Clemson assistant are intrigued with Ramey as well. Currently, the 6'3 PG has 16 offers, according to 247sports, and the Buckeyes are one of them.
At the moment, OSU has four commits in the 2018 class, with one of them being a PG in three-star Duane Washington. Ramey is considered one of the best in the state of Missouri, and would be a huge get for the Buckeyes.
