BOOOOOOM!

After being one of the many prospects on campus for the Buckeyes come-from-behind win over archrival Michigan, and having Ohio State assistant coach (and new Cincinnati head coach) Luke Fickell stop by his house for a visit, four-star outside linebacker Pete Werner of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, IN is now verbally committed to play for Urban Meyer and crew on the college level, according to Bucknuts’ Bill Kurelic.

Previously committed to Brian Kelly and Notre Dame since the spring, Werner decommitted from the Fighting Irish. Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Wisconsin are just a few of the over 25 programs that reportedly offered the latest Buckeye pledge throughout the recruiting process.

A 6’3 220-pound four-star prospect, Werner, the third potential linebacker and 17th class of 2017 recruit to verbally commit to Ohio State, is currently considered the 17th outside linebacker and 284th overall senior prospect in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Suiting up for the same program that produced current Ohio State wide out Terry McLaurin, Werner helped the Cathedral Fighting Irish to an overall record of 7-5 and a state playoff berth this season.
