it will be crucial that the team opens up a can early in the game. i'd like to see turner, lighty, buford, and diebler get no more than 25 minutes each. i doubt that will happen, but it would be nice.

I think you're getting yourself spooked over the minutes. These guys are 20 year old athletes, and they'll have at least 100+ hours to rest after tomorrow's game. I'm more concerned with foul trouble if we get in a tightly called game.

Conversely, as a middle aged non-athlete I need to rest up to watch tomorrow's game.

it's not some novel new idea that 20-year-old athletes do get tired. as i stated, it will be crucial that the team puts away their first opponent very early. few teams in the big ten press. the team has rarely had to face stifling full court pressure. if the second team we face employs a press like siena did last year, our tired legs will undoubtedly be tested.

I thought shortening the rotation in January was nuts..but there was a method to Thad's Madness..if this team is going anywhere the Big 4 had to play big minutes. I might be nuts myself but I expect Turner and Co. to be sharper tomorrow, they will know they have to focus to marshall their energy..I think the lay off from last week hurt them more than the Double OT will.

I think it's not just Lighty, but also Diebs...when Diebs is hitting from 3 land and Evan AND Lighty are slashing inside...this team is really good! :osu:

I think it's more likely with Lighty though.

You have Turner and Buford. I think Lighty has a complete-enough game to be the key here.

I was searching for highlights of OSU's 2010 NCAA tourney games, and stumbled upon this Zapruder-film like account of this game and how ET got "star treatment" from an Illinois fan:

It is quite amusing really, and just when you think it's almost over it gets better - there's a Part 2!
