Florida's center Macklin at 6'10" 240lbs has TWO rebounds in the one game Florida has played this season. TWO bounds and no blocks. In comparison Dallas has 13 rebounds and 8 blocks in one game this season. Heck Sibert had 4 bounds in the opening game. Hmmmm.....Im thinking there not a physical team at all.
macklin is also coming off of injury. florida should be much more physical than in recent seasons past. that being stated, few frontcourts will be as physical as the duo of lauderdale and sullinger.

True, I read in the one link above that he has bone spurs and tendonitis. Which doesn't bode well for him since they're going to try and press us. Thats lots of wear on those legs. However, Mr. Macklin did managed to play a whole 22 minutes and go 4 for 8 in scoring.

The point guard position for Ohio State when it plays Florida. Thad Matta has tried William Buford there in practice and David Lighty can bring the ball up, but freshman Aaron Craft is the long-term answer for the Buckeyes at the point. Craft is another former quarterback that has great toughness and leadership ability. The Gators will press and force Ohio State out of the framework of its offense. How the Buckeyes handle the pressure will determine the game.

Pregame Gator bait

Some comments from Florida coach Billy Donovan and players yesterday, as well as the Gainesville Sun preview and blog today:

BILLY DONOVAN

"I think 30 offensive rebounds in a game (Ohio State vs. North Carolina A&T) is impressive regardless of who you are playing against. They are a team that probably a year ago wasn't quite as good of a rebounding team, and I think now they have the potential to be one of the best rebounding teams in the country with Sullinger and Lauderdale and Thomas.

"And then on the perimeter, when you are playing Lighty at the small forward and Buford at the point, those guys have a lot of length and size, and they can rebound too. They're sending four guys, and there's no question we'll have to do a good job rebounding the ball in the game."

"There is no question I think we're going against a physical frontcourt with Lauderdale, Sullinger and Thomas. And that poses a great challenge for our frontcourt, as well, to be able to do the things that we're talking about to be physically better in those areas.

Grr Espn really needs to plan this better. They never leave enough time. There is no way this game is going to be over in time and they tend to refuse to switch off the games even for the people in the home market.

i don't think espn has done anything wrong. the vt/ksu game tipped shortly after 4. this is just a damn slow game. fortunately, i have access to espn3.

True, but in their defense, this game has been so ugly it's really going very slowly. Hopefully they'll switch to our game since it's two top 10 teams.
