5-star OT Devontae Dobbs expected to visit Ohio State for Penn State game

Next Saturday, Ohio State will walk into The ‘Shoe with a large contingent of Buckeye faithful hoping to see their team get revenge on Penn State. After last year’s deflating 24-21 loss against the Nittany Lions, this contest will be one to watch, with potential playoff implications on the line. That’s a big reason why many top recruits from all across the country will be roaming the sidelines to take in the action as well.
One of the big names that is now likely to be in Columbus for the highly anticipated Big Ten conference tilt is ‘19 OT Devontae Dobbs of Belleville (MI), according to 247Sports’ Bill Kurelic, who briefly spoke with Tigers head coach Jermain Crowell.
"We'll probably be at the Ohio State-Penn State game," Crowell told Kurelic.
If indeed this does happen to come to fruition, there is no underestimating how big of a deal it is for the Buckeyes and their chances with the star lineman. Dobbs, the eighth-best player in his class, has already been at Ohio State a handful of times, and obviously, the more times he is on campus, the more comfortable the 6'4, 270-pounder will be.
For now, the 247Sports Crystal Ball points towards the in-state Spartans as the favorite for the very best offensive tackle in the country and the very best player from the state of Michigan. But Ohio State should definitely not be counted out in this recruitment.
Also, as you can see in the link above, Crowell also revealed that Dobbs would be joined by a few teammates, if the visit does indeed happen. The biggest name of the bunch was ‘19 CB Julian Barnett, a four-star prospect and Top 75 prospect in his class. At this time, the Buckeyes have not yet offered Barnett, but I would imagine one coming eventually.
Miller previews upcoming visit
Another big-time visitor that is expected in the 614 next weekend comes in the form of ‘20 QB Jack Miller of Chaparral (AZ) — likely one of the best QBs that will be in his class.
Miller, a pro-style quarterback, has already landed an offer from Ohio State and that in it’s own right should show just how good the Scottsdale native is and can continue to be. However, if that isn’t enough, consider the other offers he holds under his belt: Arizona, Arizona State, Florida State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and UCLA. Yeah, not bad at all.
Miller, who stands at 6'4 and 210 pounds, was most recently in Columbus back in June. However, that stop at Ohio State was to participate in a summer camp that the Buckeyes held. This time, Miller will be able to take in a game day atmosphere in Ohio Stadium, and make no mistake, it will be an atmosphere for the ages and one that Miller is looking forward to taking in, as he stated to Rivals.com’s Adam Gorney in an interview on Wednesday.
"It’s very big and I’m looking at the atmosphere on game day and if I can see myself going to school there,” Miller told Gorney.
Taking a look at Miller’s 247Sports Crystal Ball shows that the Buckeyes are the lone program to garner a prediction for the highly-touted signal caller. With that being said, this will be marathon and not a race, as Miller has plenty of time to play the recruiting game and figure out what is best for himself.
247Sports' early ranking on the Arizona standout prospect has him as the 47th best player in his class for now. Furthermore, the well-respected recruiting service pencils him in as the very best pro-style passer in the country and the highest-ranked player from the Grand Canyon state.
