Nix was voted team captain by the players just a few months after a drug arrest (not his first run in). This team is dysfunctional. Very glad Thad recruits the kids he does.

Also the other captain they voted for was a kid that never plays (Byrd). During the season Izzo saw it wasn't working named Appling a captain.

Payne had a great game for MSU, a big factor on both ends. Amazing lob play where he didn't catch the ball cleanly when he was already in the air, was able to readjust the ball and still jam it. Memphis fans probably wish Calipari would come back to them, they haven't done anything in the tourney since he left.
