#7 Gonzaga +6.5 vs #2 tOSU (ov/un 134.5) Sat 2:45 ET, CBS

Lots of people talking about how Sacre might be a matchup problem for Sullinger... but what about Thomas being a matchup problem for the Zags?

I think a lot of us were eager to see next year want things would be like with Deshaun as 'The Man'. I think we're going to have to settle for how ever many games he carries the team for in the coming days and weeks.

Some post game thoughts after these Loyola-Maryland game. Courtesy of the Ozone So I guess we do have some problems. Mostly on the mental side IMO

Lenzelle Smith and William Buford both said they felt like the Buckeyes needed to treat this game like a loss.
  • Smith and Shannon Scott both though some of the guys took Loyola lightly.
  • Smith could tell during warmups that some of the guys were not focused the way they needed to be.
  • Aaron Craft doesn't know why this team struggles to get its mind right every game. Some of it is youth, but not all.
  • Craft said the turnovers are what really bothered him. Showed their heads weren't right.
  • Jared Sullinger said whenever the Buckeyes play well, they have a tendency to step back and admire themselves.
Getting Their Minds Right
  • Craft said he, Sullinger and Buford have to do a better job getting everyone else ready to play.
  • As much as people want to hate on Buford, he seems to be one of the guys keeping his mind in the moment.
  • Buford said his biggest concern is that they weren't communicating on defense like they did last weekend.
  • Buford is also very concerned that some guys don't understand ?if you lose, you go home.? He said he is going to everything he can to leave Ohio State without regrets.
  • Sullinger said Thad Matta was ?pissed off? after the game. Doesn't care about wins and losses, just wants them to play like a team and play together.

Quite afraid of losing to the Zags tomorrow.... Halfway because the way the East is falling it's OSU's to Final Four to lose.

They played well against WVU, but I keep reminding myself that WVU was only 19-14 (one of the most inconsistent teams in the tourney), nobody really knows how good the Big East is this year, and Gonzaga has some bad loses.

I think all in all, OSU needs a good performance from two of the following:
Buford
Craft
Sullinger
Thomas

Well living out here in Zag territory I can tell you that it will be hard to live down a Buckeye loss so they had better come through big time. Having seen em in person and almost all of their games on TV I can tell you they have been just as inconsistent as our Buckeyes have been at times. So goes their guards so goes the team and although I think Sacre vs Sullinger will be a big match up (he is amazingly agile for a 7 footer and will block quite a few of Sully's shots) the most important match up in my opinion is Craft vs Pangos and I think the nod goes to Craft here being able to shut down his 3's. If Pangos and Harris have a good game they can beat the Buckeyes, shut one or both of them down and we win barring a horrid shooting game on our part. :oh:
