Game Thread #7 tOSU 18, Purdue 26 (Oct 17, Noon ET, BTN)

We're not going to change quarterbacks. People need to chill out with that talk. That doesn't mean there isn't some serious cause for concern with TP. But this team is built around him on offense and he's going to have to step up to make it effective. I'd hate to apply that much pressure on one college sophomore, but its on him and it should continue that way.

Got to eliminate the bad mistakes, whether physical or mental. The turnovers have given Purdue 6 points and taken at least 3 off the board. The decision to pass on 2nd down gave Purdue the chance for the last 3 and they got those.

Gotta get a couple calls to go our way, too. The holding was meh. I can live with that if they call em both ways. Sanz's catch would have put OSU well into Purdue territory. The not-fumble cost OSU a chance at 3 or 7 points.

The refs missed a couple, but OSU is doing a LOT more damage to themselves.

Take care of the ball!

Also, Ohio State simply refuses to throw the ball over the middle - everything is slow-developing out routes. How 'bout some quick looks to the TE and RB's, maybe a screen?

They've tried several. The one catch and run to Saine. There was another beautifully designed played thay the CB made a great play on despite the block in the back. The fumble deep in Purdue's territory was on a screen.

A big part of the reason why the OL looks so bad is that they are just daring us to pass on them and so far we haven't been able to. I'm looking at the WR rooster and I don't see a Michael Jenkins or Brian Robiskie type who can help us get out of jams like this. Sanzo seems to be our most consistent receiver but we can't get the ball accurately there. Until something happens in the passing game Purdue will continue to stick everyone in the box.

Sorry have to disagree with you here. I think we have the talent at WR, Pryor just isnt reading all his WR's down field. If you watch him he only looks at 1 WR and doesnt scan the field they are open he just cant read them. His throws are low, high, not on time and over thrown. He has the ability just needs guidence.

I cannot believe I am going to say this, but I would like to see the O line up in the I and start running ISOs, dives, counters, sweeps, tosses.....lets get back to old school buckeye ball. POUND IT OUT ON THE FUCKING GROUND! THIS IS OHIO STATE. RUN THE BALL DOWN THEIR FUCKING THROATS! Grab your fucking balls and man up!

O.....FUCKING.....H

Too many infractions going out. Please save us the time and yell directly at the tv if you must.

Hope they left the Brady Bunch tiki necklace back in the locker room for this half... ready to switch from bizarro ball to real football now.

I don't agree at all about not having what's needed at WR, and given the bolded part of the quote, would it matter if they had a Jenkins or Robiskie out there?

FWIW, Sanzenbacher had a pretty good catch out there... oh, nevermind.

Well, you have Posey, who has high potential but have dropped his share of passes, and you have Sanzo. Who's after them? Small's fumbles on special teams is really hurting his pt. Carter has potential but is extremely raw. DWash hasn't seen any meaningful actions since week 1. Thomas and Stoneburner haven't seen any meaningful action either. Realistically, there are two guys who are consistently making plays at the WR position. Not the kind of depth you would expect.

Well, the coaches have some real challenges. It seems as if the offense has lost its confidence. I'd love to see Bauserman, but if you sit Pryor, then his confidence may well be affected even more. They have got to get a sustained drive under their belt. Slants, screens, take the pressure off. They also need the O line to execute. Ohio State can lose this game. They need to choose to win. The coaches cannot execute for them, the guys have to want this one.
