A Few Observations from A-Deck

1. Looks like the chick with the tits doesn't have season tix.

2. Brionte Dunn looks to me like our best tailback right now. Looking forward to the return of Jordan Hall.

3. Our receivers do not get much separation.

4. Braxton Miller throws a nice ball, usually. When he doesn't, it can be really ugly. The INT today I saw coming before the ball left his hand; it wasn't the throw that was bad, it was the decision to make it. The TD to Stoney, though, was sweet.

5. I'm not clear on why we can't get pressure on the QB. Noah Spence was neutralized today. Getting Mike Bennett back is a key for us.

6. Weather was the best I can remember for a Buckeye game in years. Nice and cool, and beautiful once the sun came out for good.

7. If TBDBITL gets another idea to play Sly and the Family Stone, they need to keep thinking until a different idea comes along.

8. We proved we can win ugly. Let's hope we don't have to do it again.

If by tailback, you mean running the football, sure. If by tailback you mean running the right direction and doing all of the little things to let the plays start, let alone succeed, then no.

I've seen Dunn do a good job of picking up blockers, peeling off to be a viable safety valve, and blocking downfield for others. He hasn't been guilty of any false starts or illegal motion penalties. He's also held onto the ball.

There have been plenty of miscommunications on offense this season, more today than last week; it seems harsh to suggest Dunn has more of a problem here than others, as there's plenty of blame to apportion. We'll see where the coaches put him in the pecking order against the Cal Bears.

This team looked flat or somethin' today. Way too many penalties and busted plays.
Dunn can run the ball but makes freshman mistakes.
Rod Smith is an enigma.
Boren hasn't run the ball in such a long time he has some basic issues with security.
Not a good situation.
UCF was a very solid team with a young QB. A veteran QB would have picked us apart today. UCF defense was very good.
No pass rush.
Brax carrying the ball way too much.
We have a lot of issues right now. When will they catch up to us? Cause a loss?

I like that we are forcing so many turnovers. Withers brought that with him over from North Carolina. If he can correct the stupid and simple mistakes our secondary is making they'll be alright.

Urban is going to talk with Fick and Vrabel to adjust the D-line. They were double and triple teaming Simon all day and it showed. If we can get some pressure on the QB the defense will look much better imo.

Braxton is an amazing runner and I would like to see more down-field pass plays called for him because I think if he gets the opportunity he can zip it. Maybe the receivers aren't getting enough separation.

The line looked worse this week. A lot of the times Braxton went back to pass he had pressure in his face. Run blocking looks good but pass blocking needs to improve.

To be fair, Hyde looked confused at times in the backfield with Braxton...
If you say so, I may have missed those from my vantage point.

I'm a huge fan of Bri'Onte and was dying for more snaps after last week. Today was a learning experience for the youngster.
