Matta has brought positive outlook to troubled program
COLUMBUS, Ohio Some of Thad Matta's closest friends wondered why he would trade a comfortable situation as the coach at Xavier for the problems at Ohio State.

But Matta has the Buckeyes playing well in the wake of Jim O'Brien's firing and possible penalties coming from the N-C-A-A.

The Buckeyes are a surprising 12-and-five heading into tomorrow night's game against Minnesota.

Matta says he likes the progress the team has made. He says he started with a clean slate because people were telling him before the season that his players were slackers and prima donnas.

Junior captain and leading scorer Terence Dials says it's sad that the team has already exceeded a lot of people's expectations.

Thanks for passing that on JO4H. Losing three of the last 4 is no disgrace when one considers the competition and the standard of Buckeye play. These players are bringing honor to themselves and the program.

How many years until Matta gets to the final four? That might make a nice thread!

One more good story about Ohio State. Are you listening ESPiN?
