My wife is east coast so this battle has been fought. its pop people.
coke is a brand name and is retarded to use a generic term, makes no sense.
soda is better but still not acurate since soda is the fizzy water that mixes with the flavoring, no one wants to drink that crap.
pop is a term made specifically for what we are talking about with no confusing second meaning.
sodapop would also make sense but why add an extra word if you dont need it.

I forgot what I used to call it but for the past 15 years I've called it "soda" because it's the same in English as it is in Spanish and the person attending me knows what the fuck I'm talking about. Most Mexivan places will usually only have Coca Cola, Fanta or Jarritos, sometimes Sprite.
