Anybody else been watching this? A bit behind the curve here as I'm currently only through five episodes after showing up late to the game, but find this show totally enthralling.

I watched the pilot, and John Travolta is great as Robert Shapiro as well as Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran and Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark. Cuba Gooding, Jr. as O.J. Simpson though is a stretch at best...

Cuba Gooding, Jr. as O.J. Simpson.

I haven't watched any of the show and wasn't aware of who was cast, but that phrase alone makes it hard for me to stop laughing

So of course I turned to Google, and immediately found this...

OJ. Simpson Reportedly Agrees American Crime Story Star Cuba Gooding Jr. Looks Nothing Like Him
Simpson said that the actor “is not tall enough and his head is too small.”.../cont/...

...and also learn there are Kardashians involved. Truly this man is the font of all evil.

Let's just say you will not be disappointed one bit in how the Kardashians are portrayed. They shit on them.

As Mili pointed out, yes, Cuba Gooding Jr. is a pretty awful OJ to be honest. He resembles him not one bit & his voice just doesn't translate. I think he portrays him decently, but the appearance you just can't look past.

David Schwimmer is in the same boat as Robert Kardashian. It's literally just David Schwimmer being himself.

That being said, the rest of the cast does excellently in their roles. It's worth at least a look, especially the chase episode (No. 3).

If you hate the Kardashians, this is the show for you. They do not shine a bright light at all on the children or Kris. I'm laughing every time the kids are in a scene, which is rare, but I'm only five episodes in.

The show is excellent, IMO. Gooding has the mannerisms down, even if he doesn't look like OJ. But he's not a big part of the show anyway, so any criticism of the show as a whole on that front is misplaced. I find it to be captivating overall.

I can get the mannerisms down, but that doesn't mean I should play O.J. Travolta bears a fairly string resemblance to Shapiro, and Vance is close enough with his "Cochran 'stache" that he pulls it off pretty well. Paulson is scary close to Clark at times. True, there's a lot more to play a character than looking like him/her, but it helps quite a bit...

Still, though, Gooding plays what I would call a secondary role (at most) in what is an excellent show. So I don't think it takes much away, regardless of one's Gooding as OJ view.

Any season that ends with a montage wielding the dual-threat combo of Bill Withers & Schubert is *Thumbs Up* in my book.
