Andrew Hendrix (Notre Dame signee; transfer to Miami of Ohio)
It will be interesting to see what Hendrix does.....
He could very well start as a true freshman next year at Notre Dame....why would he de-commit? Most kids who who commit to the Domers commit to the school, not necessarily the coach.

Thought it'd be relevant in this thread, but it looks like Brian Kelly will sign a 5 year deal worth $13 mill. A bargain for the type of coach he is. Not sure when this will go public, I'd guess after the Stanford game though.

One little detail you left out.

Is Kelly signing an extension with UC or with ND?

The stanford part would suggest ND.

Either way, thanks for the info bigdog.

From some place we all get information....nice people who know nice things. I think I have a nice proven track record though for this to be believed; that being said, unless I want this to be the last thing he tells me, I'll let him remain nameless.

This discussion should be for another thread though, this is Andrew's thread and information should be kept focused on that. I brought up the Kelly contract because it was previously mentioned of his strong connection to ND being based much on Weis being the head coach.

If you want more information, you can feel free to put it in a PM, but it's better to not clutter up this thread with ND's HC talk. It won't be long until this is more public.

IIRC Andrew has made reference to CW as a possible contingency for his commitment. (QB development ala Quinn and Claussen is part of his sales pitch.)

Yeah, I saw that after I made my post, haha.

I still think he'd be a bit foolish to go elsewhere. Notre Dame is still "Notre Dame" and if Kelly gets the job, he's proven to be pretty good at developing qb's. Pike will play in the NFL, Collaros looks like a really good college qb, and even Dan Levebre was starting and playing well at CMU before Kelly left.

ND has NOTHING at quarterback next year. Clausen is gone, Dayne Crist may not be able to play due to injury, and Evan Sharpley isn't a qb at this level. Hendrix is 2nd string at worst the minute he steps on campus.

Sharpley is a senior...he's gone too.

One of the odd things about the Weis tenure is that he had some very good recruiting classes. He just didn't win enough. Now the question is if Notre Dame can hang on to the recruits Weis was chasing currently, such as Andrew Hendrix, a four-star quarterback recruit from Moeller High in Cincinnati.

"He's definitely still a Notre Dame commitment," Moeller coach John Rodenberg says. "But a lot hinges on who is the next coach."
