Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
BEWARE: Antivirus Pro 2010 is a fake security software which uses fraudulent strategies by displaying false or exaggerated security issues on your computer rather than any legitimate ones to coerce you into purchasing their software.

FWIW, I had this on my computer. Needless to say, it was a real "nasty" virus and I had no idea where I got it from.

I tried several of the usual virus removal programs (i.e Spybot, bazooka, etc.) and they didn't get rid of it. Then I lucked into finding this one:

Remove Antivirus Pro 2010 [Removal Guide]

It worked and it was free!!!

I had that problem too (especially with my Yahoo Home Page), but I still managed to get online by going back and refreshing, using favorites, and/or accessing through google, etc.

Also, did you try rebooting in "safe mode"? That seemed to "lock out" the virus and that is mode you run the fix in.

I'm a bit hesitant to do too much on my own when I have an IT Department. They told me to not click on anything, shut down the computer and bring it to them. I have no idea how I got it... I do everything pretty much the same, and don't open any weird e-mails or click on random links. Unless it's on the BP:paranoid:

The Anti-Virus Pro 2009 virus/malware was a nasty one. Malwarebytes was the best thing to remove it. It was usually embedded in website ads. JJHuddle was absolutely plaqued with it last in the spring.

If you use malware bytes with 2010 you need to rename the MB exe or it will kill it as soon as it runs. That thing has to be the single most fucking annoying virus out there, it gets past a lot of antivirus packages and doesn't like to go away.
