if so, i would like to say the deepest and most sincere FUCK YOU! that i have ever given anyone.

had to have a finger tip stitched up over the weekend.

had to deaden entire finger to do the stitching, so doc did a "digital block"
which means stab you right next to knuckle and proceed to dig over, around, across, and against the knuckle with the needle.

jesus h. tap dancing christ!
that effing hurt more than slicing my finger of that metal roof!
next time, i may just let it get infected and rot off.
prolly be less painful.

It is much less painful if you insert the needle slightly and then inject the Bupivacaine/Lidocain as you are slowly inserting the needle that way you are inserting the needle into the numb areas.
Although in the past I have seen it done were the needle is inserted until it is tenting the skin on the other side and then injected as it is pulled out. I am guessing this is what he did to you. It's just experience.

Medical doctors are not allowed to post on BP due to past experiences that did not go well. If you have questions, reference: Tibor

Perhaps you did have a new resident fresh out of medical school. As another poster noted, they all start in July--reason why you NEVER opt for elective surgeries in the summer.

Oh, and stop being a little girl.

I broke my collarbone years ago, and while setting it they shot painkiller directly into the break spot. That hurt like a bitch, too.

If I remember right, though, I didn't cry like a little girl... Just sayin'. :wink2:
