Any truth behind planned addition to the shoe??

I don't know if it is being considered, the rumors were started in a bulletin set to go out april fools day with alleged quotes from Gene Smith. I'm not aware of anything since then.

Its BS, funny thing though how quickly it gained currency. It was still doing the rounds at the Spring Game, even though freely available sample editions of BSB, distributed at the game and dated April 15th, explicitly stated that the whole thing was a ruse - April Fools!!

Sadly, or amazingly I guess, is they could double the current capacity of the 'Shoe and it would still sell out. I heard somewhere that for every seat in Ohio Stadium, 5 people are trying to get a ticket for it...pretty nuts.

I doubt very, very seriously that they have paid off the previous rennovation...

The combined debt on the stadium renovation and the Schott was about $200 million when Gene Smith took over as AD last year, and the repayment plan involved roughly $20 million per year, so they'll be paying those off for a while.

Yea, he was going to rent it to the Griffin's but they failed to pay.

In a related story, ESPN has it from good sources that not only did the Griffins not pay rent for the shoe, but Maurice Clarrett was given the south stands for his contributions to the team since 2002. No word yet if Albert Means is involved in any way, but it looks like MC is not cooperating with the school, NCAA, or law enforcement officials.
