Anyone else expecting their preordered Xbox 360 next week?

there were people lined up at the local wal-mart at about 7:00 a.m. yesterday morning to wait until midnight to get one. I want one, but not that bad.

Agree,

All I really want it for is so I can play the upgraded Halo2 online anyway..............oh well, I guess I'll just get my ass kicked by 12 year olds with kick ass versions of the game..............not that they didn't kick my ass at it before anyway.:pissed:

they are going for 1500 big ones on ebay. wtf!! Why would you pay 1500 for something you can buy for 400 in a couple months?
Why wait a couple months? The people at Bestbuy, Gamestop, EB Games, and Circuit City said that they were getting 2-3 more shipments before Christmas, and Comp USA said they were getting one on Monday.

Well, I went to Bestbuy and they were sold out. The guy at Gamestop told me that he had 48 in the back that are pre-ordered, and that if the people don't come and pick them up tonight, he would give me one tomorrow if I get there early enough. Pretty nice guy. He did the same thing with Madden 06 when they ran out of copies and he had a bunch of pre-orders that didn't get picked up that day.

Wal-Mart had 0 out here.
Meijer had 4.

They are gonna be tough to get before the holiday season it sounds. Fuck, I really wanted one for Christmas.

Soon, the PS3 craze will start.. I might just buy 3 or 4 and sell them bitches on ebay for 1k+

edit: oh yea, can we get some reviews in here?! I want to know what everyone thinks. I'll just assume you are too busy playing it to get on here and share right now!

Our Wal-Mart had 7. Bestbuy had 50, but there were only about 15-20 people in line with me and less than 1/2 of them got one. They weren't allowing pre-orders, so you know they sold a bunch to their employees, which is something they're not allowed to do.

Yeah baby, Xbox 360 rocks!! Mine was delivered yesterday and here are my initial impressions:
<O:p</O:p
- I got the premium package which included the hard drive and a wireless controller. I also got an extra wireless controller and a rechargeable battery pack plus 5 games (Project Gotham Racing 3, Call of Duty 2, Perfect Dark Zero, Gun and Condemned).

- It took me about an hour to set it up on my system (51” HDTV and 5.1 surround system) and to sign up for an Xbox Live account.

- The system comes with a “free” Xbox Live account, but you can’t play games against other people with the free account. So I signed up for Live Gold which is $50/year.

- Setup is very simple, although you have a lot more options than with the old Xbox. I just plugged the 360 into my router with an Ethernet cord and was online in seconds.

- The controller is a bit different than the old controller; the black and white buttons are gone but have been replaced by two other buttons above the left and right trigger buttons. This is a much easier configuration and going wireless is awesome.

- Now for the games: I first played PGR3, damn what a nice looking game. At times it truly looks like you’re watching a real racing event. Frame rate is very smooth and controlling the cars is very intuitive. The strip in Las Vegas looks simply stunning – I kept crashing on that course because I’d keep looking at the detailed hotels and not the road. If you’ve ever walked the strip in Vegas you’ll appreciate how authentic it looks.

- Next I played COD2, another great looking game. I’ve never felt more immersed in a video game before, it makes you truly feel like once small piece of a huge battle. Sound is incredible and you hear the chatter of your fellow soldiers around you constantly. And those smoke grenades look simply stunning.

- And finally I played a bit of PDZ, only the first level though. The graphics and game play didn’t quite match the level of the other two games, but I really haven’t played it enough to make a final judgment.

- As for Xbox Live, I had a few problems connecting to games at times and there were some choppy frame rate issues on a couple of servers, but once I got a good connection it was a hell of a lot of fun. Since it was everyone’s first day most of the focus was on learning the game, the levels and chatting about how awesome the graphics look. Hopefully in a few weeks the newness will wear off and everyone will be more focused on working and communicating as a team to achieve your objectives.
<O:p</O:p
Hopefully that was helpful and feel free to ask any other questions.

First impressions - Wow.

I am more of a computer gamer than console gamer, but I must say that I am insanely impressed with the 360. It is definitely the first console system to pass up the PC. I played NBA Live 06. Just to put this post in perspective........I hate the NBA, but I had a blast playing this game. Graphics is just plain ridiculous.
